MvC Infinite CHARACTER Speculation/Request Thread

I’m still mad Ock was scrapped from MVC3. I always think about his potential moveset.

Considering MVC3 was released in 2011 with Dormammu in advance for Strange’s movie, I think they know some things that will happen in the future when deciding the cast.

I wouldn’t be against seeing Shocker, Kraven, Scorpion, Mysterio either. I almsot feel sad they are usually downplayed in the Spider-Man media

If you’re going to make wild speculations, at least provide a fighting style.

I’m inclined to think MvCI is too lighthearted to include dedicated psychotic serial killers. Nemesis is probably the most serious it’s roster has gone, as anyone more ‘evil/deadly’ is a corny supervillain like Wesker, Bison, Doom or Dormammu. Even Thanos, a dude who’s killed half of the known universe before, is not as dark as someone like Joker or this Muse person. And it’s not even a matter of ‘Oh, these characters have done far worse in comics, here’s an instance of that’. MvC is a game where superheroes fight one another in cartoony combat that’s pleasing to the eye. A character noted for being bloody/murderiffic will AT LEAST be highly toned down (Deadpool, Wolverine, Sabretooth). If that is core to the character, like Muse here, Capcom will choose someone else rather than disrupt the tone to be accurate. Otherwise, we’d have another ‘Why doesn’t Snake use guns in Brawl’ issue on our hands.

TL;DR Capcom can’t translate the character’s tone to MvCI without causing problems

If the game goes super serious grimdark with just one villain then the entire game will be infected with grimdark and then we end up with dog shit like Injustice. No thanks.

The new Daredevil comic has this villain called Muse (aka Vincent Van gore) now and he looks fucking sick and demented yo!!! He’s a psychotic serial killer who uses the internal organs of his victims to create, “art”.

But Carnage is the greatest hero of all. He has mad skillz and saves fair maidens. Great potential moveset too.

I don’t think violent personalities will stop characters from having a chance. We’ve had serial killers in every MVC title so far. Only when gore is an essential part of the character does it become an issue. I think Carnage has a fair shot (although he’s likely competing with Venom due to the similarities in their powers), but I’m not so sure about the gorier characters. It would be great if there was a way around the rating problem, because I really want to see Jedah in this one.

It’s pretty hard to tell either way, tbh. Captain Marvel and Iron Man are the opposing leaders of Civil War II, but the appearance of CM they used for the trailer is the early version (before even Secret Wars) so they could be drawing from anywhere with these characters. If they have a movie or tv show out or coming out within the next year or so they obviously have the highest chance, but I’m trying to see where Marvel’s train of thought is for characters outside of that space. Skrull and MODOK were nowhere near the MCU at the time MVC3 was out (and they still aren’t), but I figured they were more of a comic advertisement for the new Invasion series and MODOK’s Battleworld series. I know there will be some characters like that again, but I’m frustrating myself trying to deduce who since Marvel’s been branching out into so many things lately.

Shocker is one of the villains in the new Spider-Man movie so he’s getting his due. I agree with the rest.

If Yipes is right in saying that the game has been in development since late 2014, early 2015, Time Runs Out and Secret Wars would have a bigger impact on the game’s roster.

A character I definitely don’t see making it in without being toned down beyond recognition is Red Skull. They’d have to literally turn him into a different person.

Red Skull was in Super Hero Squad and various other cartoons, so that’s not true.

And they wouldn’t need to tone him down for this game.

Yeah and Doctor Octopus almost made it in last time, so i hope that gives him a good chance of debuting this time.

Green Goblin would be great too Though part of me Linda wants it to be Hobgoblin to see if Mark Hamill will voice him again. But I know Green G is the more likely of the too.

I definitely think the SW is a factor when it comes to stages, but not necessarily characters.

As much as everyone wants it, I don’t think God Doom is going to happen

I remember playing some MUGEN build called ‘World Heroes’ years ago.

The Green Goblin was on the roster, which was basically recycled Spider-Man animations, but with a Green Goblin skin and glider thrown on top of it, with some unique supers (iirc).

Something like that minus the reused animations would be cool.
