He’s a lock for Guardians 3. Marvel is perfectly fine with giving a character exposure before their MCU debut. It’s probably why Captain Marvel is in the game.
I was beyond hype for Gamora if I couldn’t get Drax but after seeing the design of her, I’m much less inclined.
They could’ve given her the MCU look or the look she had during Civil War 2 but no, they put her in the fucking space suit…

Dahren Mohran appears in the story mode, as shown in the E3 story trailer, so maybe not.
There’s also a Rathalos statue on the Valkanda statue, so a Rathalos super is a possibility. Rathalos lv1 where he runs across the stage, Felyne helper lv1 like Felicia’s, and maybe a Dahren Mohran cinematic lv3. I can dig it.
The main priority after Season 1 should be getting Wolverine and Magneto in the game. I think people could move on without Storm/Sentinel/Cable (there would still be some complaining though), but those 2 are so iconic to the series that many people barely consider it a Marvel game without them. Shit, people keep ignoring MvC1 because it didn’t have a playable Magneto, among other things.
I have a theory that Cable has a better chance of making it in as DLC than people think, but he would come with Deadpool rather than the other X-Men.

So, first and foremost, this is how we get Doctor Doom back. Beyond that, we also have some interesting parallels between the Fantastic 4 universe and Darkstalkers in the character Pyron.

Now, who would actually be in this pack aside from Doom and Pyron? On the Marvel side, Skrull would be another easy import. Silver Surfer has also been requested for ages, so I can see him making it in too. For a fourth character, there are a few options. The guy who put this out there originally gave She-Hulk as a candidate, because of her brief stint with the F4, but I have some other ideas. Something really obvious would be a Fantastic 4 character with Mr.Fantastic on point. He’d call out the other members as assists, similar to what Ultron/Rocket Raccoon already do. Mr.Fantastic is not only the group leader, but his stretch powers would lead to some really crazy normals. There’s also Namor the Sub-Mariner, who gets an extra chance in this pack so Capcom can reference Rikuo/Aulbath as a fellow merman.
Now, about the Darkstalkers. Aside from Pyron, Felicia is pretty much guaranteed based on fan demand. Hsien-Ko could also come back, but she’s less of a staple than Felicia or Morrigan. If Capcom wants to make a MvC2 throwback, both Anakaris ( <3 ) and B.B. Hood are still open, though I think there are enough potential gun users to rule out the latter. Donovan might have a chance, but he could be left out for Trish/Vergil down the line. By far the most requested Darkstalkers that haven’t appeared in a MvC game yet (after Jedah) are Jon Talbain and Lord Raptor/Zabel. The others are either too expensive/hard to implement (Demitri) or just don’t have enough of a fanbase.

Marvel 2 is such a weird situation where a bunch of top tier X Men become icons within an IP. In any other game people would be tired of whoever is top tier. Marvel created a culture around playing cheap top tiers.
I said it once, I’ll say it again, Zangief needs to fuck off. He’s been king of trash tier in every single Marvel game he’s been in. That isn’t going to change here.
Put Hugo in because he has better tools for Marvel than Zangief.

Hugo was fucking garbage in 3S, what are you smoking. He’s B+ in the Arcadia 2009 list, but that doesn’t include a match up chart. If you want to pass that off as the most recent list, it isn’t. He fell back to C in 2014.
The closest he ever was to good was being mid tier in SFxT, and he still got nerfed to shit because no one enjoys him. SFxT (and later, USF4) would be a better game if they dropped him entirely and did Sodom instead, because people actually wanted that character.
The point I’m making is that Hugo has been good and still has the potential to be good. If you’re going to use matchups and tiers and shit as an argument for why Hugo would be bad in Marvel, Alex and Zangief have been consistently worse than Hugo across all Capcom fighting games and yet they’ve shown up in Marvel and Tatsunoko anyways. Hugo’s shown the most potential of any heavyweight from Street Fighter to be a good character.

The past ten years of Capcom has been nothing but a train wreck. I don’t understand how they can put out such shitty products like RE6 yet afford $100,000 pot prizes at their own Capcom Cup. I think they’re just on the same level as Event Hubs with their tongue up eSports bum hole trying to cash in on the big money. The CEOs clearly don’t give a fuck and their financial team is probably advising them to push for eSports to make money instead of spending good money on quality games. I think the last truly best thing to come out of Capcom was RE4.
I have to admit I love the concept of RE7 and am waiting for prices to drop to get a Pro and VR so I can enjoy that game as it was intended, as it seemed quite popular, but that was a step miles away from anything they’ve previously created, and a whole new concept for the company. They just don’t have the material anymore and I think all the washed up characters on the Capcom side of the roster in this game highlight that perfectly.
It’s funny you didn’t mention SFV where he actually has an arial SPD. Hyper armour + arial SPD = not free for air born characters. Mecha Zangief can be as good as anyone wants him to be, he doesn’t have to compare to any other game just to be good. Can you imagine Mecha Zangief locked down in the Space Stone cube? Wtf is anyone gonna do about that? Mecha Zangief doesn’t care about being close, as long as he can plough through attacks with hyper armour he can attack at any point he wants.
Zangief has been bottom of the fucking barrel in every single Marvel game he’s been in, even with Mech Zangief as one of his supers. He’s had his chance, he needs to fuck off.
Hugo has more utility for hyper armor than Gief does, since unlike Gief he has the ability to quickly close long distances.
Lol. You’re forgetting the fact that devs can design a character any way they like, it doesn’t matter if he’s been bottom tier in other games, your design choices completely dictate that. What does Hugo have that Zangief doesn’t? An anti air grab? If they want Zangief’s suplex to move across the screen faster then they just do it, it’s not like he’s a real person and they don’t hire him because of his track record lol. Plus Zangief has lariat which is an amazing defensive tool. I’d rather Zangief than Haggar but Haggar over Hugo any day.
