Apparently, that datamine leak is from 10 days ago. It have “RestrainedThanos”, “DahrenMohran” and “Grandmaster”, characters that only appeared at E3’s story trailer.
Dahren Mohran is that giant sandworm dragon thing from Monster Hunter. No way that’s a playable character. It’s the size of Mexico.
I’m thinking that Dahren Mohran will be a story specific character. It definitely wont be a playable character but you’ll probably fight against it the same way you fought Yami in Tatsunoko vs Capcom or Galactus in UMvC3.

Storm will likely be DLC during 2017.
I hope they put in Psylocke though.
Psylocke is my favorite character but I’ve kinda lost hope of her ever being in another game. Now that X Men are just fighting to get back in the scene, she’s probably gonna be on the backburner for other characters.
This char select screen just looks so shallow without even a single X-Men character.
man how are they gonna sustain EVO and other events with just Spider-Man/Gamora/Ant-Man/Jedah/Monster Hunter/Nemesis ?

What “other events”? They probably doing an announcement at EVO, and then at Gamescom. September is release time
They only need like 1 more trailer and that’s it. They had no trouble keepign the community in the dark for 5 months after initial reveal
Next month is EVO and D23 in the same weekend, then San Diego Comic-Con (which is a huge event) later that month, Gamescom in August and PAX West in the very start of September. PAX may be a tad too close to the release, but regardless they got a good bit to spread the remaining characters across.
Really unlikely. Why do you think it’s releasing so soon? So they can half-ass the base roster and cash in by releasing endless character DLC.
Judging from the story mode though, maybe hunters from MH aren’t actual playable characters but generic mook story mode enemies like the Xgardians and the ultron drones.
I’m willing to think that Haggar, Frank West, Ghost Rider, and Dormammu are actually in the base roster.
- Haggar solves the “no Capcom grappler guy” issue
- Dead Rising is one of Capcom’s biggest IPs right now, you’d be out of your mind to think they’d just leave out a design that actually worked in 3
- Ghost Rider gives us the stretch/extend normals that no one in the base cast really has (I guess Nemesis does but they aren’t the main design of the character)
- Dormammu was the main villain of the Doctor Strange movie, popular in 3, and may be relevant going forward
Plus, all four can be ported from UMvC3, so if we were going to get more characters that’s where they would come from.

Haggar’s not a big body. Hugo and Juggernaut are big bodies. Haggar is just a buff manlet.
He’s not even as big as Zangief.
