Its like having a lot of leftover recipes from the another meal. Reusing them, buying new recipes but still skimping on using them in the final meal., and then you are surprised when people say that your cooking sucks
They kind of did though. Majority of the roster is returning with many MvC3 animations. Graphics/models aren’t exactly stellar so far. People aren’t shitting when they say more new characters were created from MvC3 to UMvC3 than for this new game. The stones are the main offering left to appreciate at this point, which means we’re basically getting another SFV situation where gameplay is respectable but most everything else falls flat.
I can say the same for Tekken 7. Hugely a returning cast of characters with animations and sound effects being reused from previous games. I don’t understand why this is being treated like it’s evil when it’s standard practice. Graphics sucking and tiny amount of new characters are things to get mad over. I have no issue with that.
That’s the Tekken series though. The games aren’t known for massive amounts of new animation in a single entry, which is somewhat reasonable on their end because a Tekken character requires way more graphical detail and animation frames to be playable than a Marvel character. I have my own beef with that game (GIVE ME ROGER JR YOU CUCKS), but this thread is about Marvel. Even compared to its own series, Capcom is on a fast track to fucking up pretty bad in September. Both Marvel 3 and UMvC3 were rushed out the door compared to what they could have been, but at least felt like a complete game on release. Capcom went through all the effort of rebooting the series but has downgraded in a lot of aspects. Not doing assists is a respectable design decision, but it’s starting to seem they did that to save time instead of any actual vision.
Believe me, I was legitimately excited at the potential of a new Marvel game. In fact, I still can’t say the gameplay will be ass, but then again we’re less than 4 months from release and have barely seen anything. But if Capcom isn’t putting the effort into the roster, the graphics, or the gameplay, there really isn’t much to get excited for.
I believe that Capcom needs to delay the game for it’s own good. Releasing it in September will put it on the fast track of becoming SFV all over again. Never mind the roster. The graphics are mobile tier, the overall presentation is generic and I don’t think story and mission mode will be enough to satisfy the casuals.
Ryce list is shit if true. Was actually willing tocut them slack if it had a decent roster. Looks like this is mvc3#reload. Only thing i can thinkof is that theylet this leak because the actual roster is much bigger and they wanna save the good stuff for later.
I see Monster Hunter, and if that’s true then I’m half happy already, because you may pull some of the MH fans into this game potentially. Now all we need is Asura and I’ll feel pretty good.
Question: Since we know we are getting six new dlc characters post-launch, with Venom being one of them (and is technically a returning character), does that mean it’s safe to assume it will be a different incarnation of Venom? Flash Thompson perhaps?
