No surprise that the game sidn’t sell well, and I can also sense the lack of enthusiasm for this game even on this site. People used to talk combos and strategies a lot back when marvel vs capcom 3 was released. If you look at the posting count for the character discussion, it is very low compared to what we have seen before.

That’s more so due to social media and discord being alternative forum options.

NRS and anime games have never had huge discussions here for years any way. The push away from SRK has been happening for years really. Just expedited with other options to discuss the games. All you gotta do is go on Twitter and see all of the Capcom Tour Pro people going HAM talking about the Capcom games. Plus the new thing is the secret Discords.

You can go on Facebook and probably find like 4 or 5 active discussion groups for MvCI, but they will be so casual and scrubby in the type of discussions that it isn’t worth bothering looking at. The SFV FB group is literally just a fan page that could be made for any SF game.

Even when DBZ launches you won’t have a ton of discussion for the game here. You will have to go on social media to see any heavy active discussion for the game. Even the one thread for the game here has shit for posts relative to all the social media hype and memes.

The same thing can be said for SF5 but that took two years just to fix that hot mess and add in things that was already in the game…
Nothing has stated that they have yet to fix the netcode to actually not make that a hot mess or cleaning up the background, changing up the battle system and the news that you have to add in DLC codes rather than the characters being on the disc still shows that Capcom is still too close to being extremely inept for their business

I doubt MvC:I will get even remotely close to the same love that SF5 is getting from Capcom.

Yeah.

You greatly underestimate how well the Switch has been selling. That, and it was a Mario title to boot.

For comparison, when you look at the PS4 chart, MvC:I outsold an Uncharted game. In addition to this, this was in a month considered to have strong video game sales, so you can’t just say its people not buying anything else.

If you are willing to wait a month or so, price drops are inevitable with games unless it’s from rockstar. I got tekken a month after release for under 40 with bestbuys gc membership. Btw bestbuy is by far the best place to buy games new. Getting Mario odyssey for 37 on release essentially because it comes with a 10 gift card on pre order and new games are 47 if you are a member.

Gameclub membership is 30 bucks for 2 years. I usually re up during their end of the year buy 2 get 1 free deal.

The 5th managed to sell in the millions while the 6th wasn’t even over 250k, estimates put it around 170k actually, and that is being extremely generous based on past games info.
