MvC 3 Netcode

theres never going to be good netcode in a new capcom fighter

yea sf4 netcode is real bad too like i guess people are just weirdos with no eye hand coordination or reflexes or somethin

How the fuck are you gonna tell me what I’ve experienced in my own damn game/internet connection? Ignorance? Ignorance is telling me what the fuck what my connection is.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

And to further push the point, I don’t give a fuck not only what you think of my connection, but also what your connection is.

listen to yourself lol

sf4 and mvc3 is the exact same net code. 1 can’t be better than the other. If 1 of them is bad, the other is bad too. Its pretty fucking simple… and to further stress my point, no good player has said the online net code for sf4 is good or @ least I haven’t heard it. I’ve even asked top players about it through PM’s on srk and they all hate it.

I don’t know what more to do. I’m giving you guys nothing but facts and you’re still arguing semantics.

scrubucan.com!

Both are not bad. Otherwise, I’d experience the same thing. Which I haven’t. All you have said is “Netcode is same”.

Telll me how “Ignorance?” is why I’ve experience two completely different online experiences.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

Unless you’re saying “netcode is the same when they both started out”.

I didn’t say the net code is the same, capcom did. The same exact team did both net codes and they’re in fact the same. The only reason sf4 doesn’t look as bad is because its a slower game but they have the EXACT same problems because its the EXACT same net code. The way the net code handles basic inputs and lag spikes is completely identical. Its just really easy to see in mvc3 because the game is much faster so all the problems about the net code become incredibly apparent.

I NEVER had a good experience online for sf4 and that’s even playing regionally. It sucks outside of Japan and other players whom are good also agree.

Daigo Umehara Interview About SSF4 Arcade Edition.

Umehara: Yeah. But now we have XBL/PSN. So even if there aren?t a lot of people playing it here, I think we can create the necessary environment to take on the US. I tried playing online in America before, and the lag is really horrible there. So the top players in the US don?t have a choice but to get together and play in person. So in that respect, I think Japan has an advantage.***

please read the underlined part. This was after daigo went to capcom of USA offices to play people on capcomunity a few days before a cali tournament where he got beat by Filipino champ.

I’m giving you facts and you keep slinging your opinion.

at least hes not the guy i saw on crapcom unity saying that he experienced no lag and no input delay playing people in japan

daigo “the lag is really horrible there” umehara ftw

If Capcom doesn’t give a shit about our online needs, then fuck them.

Plain and simple. They won’t see a cent out of me unless those dumbasses in japan put actual effort into online. I’ll be supporting other companies like NRS until capcom get’s their shit together. Hell, even Namco got their shit together. I don’t ever want to see these names “Ono and Niitsuma” as producers again. They can only piss people off with every breathe they take.

Fuck all of you Capcom Fanboys who have been hindering progress since day one. Who have been defending Capcom from the beginning, ended up wrong, and then started spouting more bullshit to stroke your egos. Misinformation should be ban worthy, real talk.

People should just admit it, Capcom will NEVER make a good netcode for a new FG. Which means as far as we’re all concerned on the netcode front, we should be done with Capcom period (unless you’re like Shoultz who have the ability to pirate…I’m too lazy lol). If they show no appreciation for us why should we show loyalty to them? Honestly, not a single FG company deserves ANY loyalty. Not a single one.

The thing is though, SSF4 online was so much better than MvC3. Even in Vanilla playing with a somebody over XBL in Puerto Rico it was never as bad as playing somebody from Texas in MvC3. What the fuck?

Don’t get me wrong SSF4 online could be better, but why is the difference so fucking noticeable if its supposedly the same net code? It just can’t be the speed of the game.

Either way, Capcom is disappointing.

I always believed that the netcode on ssf4 was pretty good, could it have been better of course. It was very playable within your region. Now with this game lag is very noticeable even in full green bar connections. There are some combos that i will simply not even bother with trying them online.

All I have to say is “please support and buy Skull Girls, the 1st fighting game with official support of GGPO”

QFT. I’ll be looking for all future fighting games in the bargain bin if they don’t have godlike netcode. Otherwise, I’ll get them used - and may as well if everyone and their kids will be using this DRM stuff with locked online features.

Really? Used game business? Had no idea people love DRM on this website. Oh well, it finally got to consoles. Back to PC gaming for me in the near future.

//end rant. Not meant to dethread.

meh, Maybe Ae will get better netcode with its “supercharged online” Highly doubtful though.
Replay features are just pointless shit to me.

Might even go with pc gaming soon. Since all my friends are already making the transition. Only reason im playing consoles now is for fighters and some Console only action games. But since most are just getting ported to pc or released along side console versions it wouldn’t make a big difference.

Capcom just digging itself a grave with this shittacular online experience every game.
At least Namco is trying to Improve with trying GGPO with the new DBZ game, and Skullgirls is using GGPO.
Maybe Capcom will take notes, highly doubtful though.
Might as well just start buying pc parts now.

How does paying for some random ass game help anyone. Either the code will be good, or it’ll suck. The amount of copies sold won’t be attributed to the netcode.

All I can say is that I wouldn’t be as butt hurt if Seth didn’t talk MvC3’s netcode up like it was going to be any different than their usual crap.

This is about all you can do if you want to send a message to Capcom. Convincing them that a game can be sold outside of Japan on the merits of its netcode alone might give them an inkling of what the general NA fighting gamer values in a title.

Aside from that, I think this topic has been degenerating into raw Capcom bashing for too long now.

Too many mixed messages in here. People talking about the original intention of SRK, and then going on to renounce fighting games because they have shit net code. Net code, no matter how good, will never be anything like playing offline side by side. You still aren’t playing the real game, so to speak.

I expect everybody to want a robust product from all developer’s but, I think having poor netcode lends to the fighting game community’s (I guess to be more specific the tournament scene) interest to have more local/regional turn outs and social interaction with each other. The internet is no place for fighting games, honestly.

Of course it isnt, but it doesnt hurt if it has atleast playable online.
Since not everyone has the time or money to travel around and going to tournies and theres the not everyone having a local scene.

I ask you then if you’ve ever played GGPO online because I had problems with the sf4 net code from day 1. As with mvc3, my offline timing is irrelevant online because the net code is so bad. My same personal gripes about sf4 online are the same as mvc3 and I’ve never thought sf4 was good online @ all. I’m not the average player when it comes to bitching about online components. Been trying to play online successfully since 1999. I’ve pretty much seen every possible attempt @ net codes right now aside from the modern games like AH3.

IMO, a good FPS player inputs just as many different button combination as a fighting game player and they take the same amount of reaction time. Probably slightly faster in FPS games since in most of them you can’t see the bullets. Is the internet any place for FPS games?

I’ve played on GGPO since day 1. I know how good that net code is. Being able to level up through the internet is totally possible IF the net code is good enough.

lol at the guy on the last page saying bad netcode is a good thing because people play in person then
