MvC 3 Netcode

Well he better deliver if he said all of that. If the netcode is less shit than Capcom’s but still shit, he looks like an absolute ass. It better be freaking nigh impeccable online.

As fucked up as this sounds. Might I suggest that you only play against people that have FTTH/FTTB. Otherwise, you are going to experience some lag. This is the reason why they don’t experience lag in Japan and other places that have this option. The netcode for these games are unfortunately tested under these conditions.

NRS isn’t hitting up the hardcore market unless the gameplay is solid and playable. Either not-broken or broke in an MvC2 or HnK fashion. That’s to be seen. NRS is also pandering to the casual crowd a lot harder than Capcom did too, what with their challenge tower and a story mode and free alternate costumes and all that jazz that hardcore players don’t care about as much.

Indeed. Kind of an interesting dichotomy, I think NRS partially realizes that they have so much riding on this game because MK has been an utter joke ( more than normal ) for the past 15 years. Reminds me vaguely of Inafune’s rant when he left Capcom about there being no punishment for mediocrity and therefore, no desire or drive… indeed an outright RISK to try to innovate or be exceptional.

Maybe Capcom needs to fail or encounter some serious competition in the genre.

That said, still not holding my breath for MK9, but they are making Capcom look like a bunch of total assholes right now.

If MK9 makes Capcom step their shit up, by all means… bring me that godlike netcode!

The thing that irritates me the most is how quiet it is from Capcom even though there’s been a shitstorm about the netcode, matchmaking, spec mode, replays etc. Just shows that when the heat gets turned up, Capcom just clams up.

In terms of netcode ?. Namco and Arc System Works pretty much owns all of the arcade scene in Asia in terms of fighting games. Capcom just makes it big in North America, which is still a huge industry, but they know the loyal fans will buy anything they put out.

In the short term, sure. Long term, reputation for shoddy products catches up to you. People stop buying your games. People buy Capcom’s games now because of 20 years of fairly consistent quality products right up to, let’s say, RE4 era. They start letting things slide now and 3-5 years down the road that reputation is gone. Reputation gone = bye bye profit margin.

In socal, time warner internet, most games are 4 bars or higher with “same” region set on. Sometimes I have to change my timings for my doom loop and amaterasu comboes, but my anchor is xfac level 3 sent so I’m not karen.

So true. Though I love the raw gameplay of MVC3, I kind of wish I hadn’t pre-ordered it, as lack of spectator mode is not something I support for a fully priced retail game. Capcom aren’t getting any more “insta-pre-orders” off me until I know that the games will have the basic stuff I expect.

I haven’t been into MK since UMK3 and when I discovered that it was basically fun but shit. Now I am hoping that they make an awesome game and have the online system to back it up.

I thought Blazblue would have shown Capcom how to make an online system but they just keep riding their popularity and giving us second rate products (after the actual gameplay itself).

I keep trying to play online like a moron with this false sense of hope that I’ll enjoy it. No combo, no block and cant gain momentum cause I feel like my character is not doing what I tell him to do cause I rely too much on responding to the screen.

Ya this came has pretty much been a waste for me. The online is terrible so I can’t really get any better at it due to no local scene…extremely disappointed and sorry I spent $60 for it.

Online is trash without spectator mode. How can you create a lobby with 8 people and make them wait for your turn? Am i suppose to play with my DS as I wait my turn? What the fuck was Capcom thinking? I understand that the game is very fast but instead of creating a 8 person lobby they should of cut it down to half and added spectator mode. Capcom was just trying to milk this series for whats its worth. The game overall is disappointing especially after the god sent that SSF4 is.

The user and all related content has been deleted.

Im shelving this game the min MK9 drops.

i like how inconsistent its the netcode of this game, i play really fine with a friend that lives in another city, without input lag or at least in a level that is not noticeable, yet when i play with another friend in the same city, is utterly shit

Routing issues between ISPs most likely.

another dumb online-related thing is that i think people can ready themselves in their own lobby before an opponent enters? i haven’t even played that many online matches and i’ve still encountered numerous people who were afk but the match still started. timers run out on select screens, the guy doesn’t move, have to wait for the timer on the post-match screen… it’s such a waste of time.

lul

well that its for sure, from what i know, my friend on the other city has the same provider as me wich has its node on guatemala, meanwhile the friend that live on my city has his internet with the company that i work for (yes i use the services from the major adversary of the company :stuck_out_tongue: ) and their node is on el salvador

the problem is that we dont have anything of this problems with HDR or BBCS, hell even the garbagestick netcode of ssfiv works better :looney:

Yeah they can ready. But since you brought lobbies, here’s another…well “issue” I guess. A Kick Option. Now, at times it’s very needed to deal with trolls and such…but there’s no way to ensure that it won’t be abused. I know this seems random, but it’s been on my mind today.

Also skipper, thank you for ensuring Capcom will never put out good netcode.

shit is starting to get unbearable is anyone else experiencing this lag?
