MvC 3 Netcode

hahahah no. Not just a regualar no, FUCK NO!!! wrong out the asssssss.

when the netcode is good to great as it is in hdr\mvc2 and ggpo, ANYONE AND EVERYONE gets better exponentially. You have 2 world champions who trained extensively online, afrolegends and snake eyes. You have other people like who play online a lot cracking top 8 like that ehonda player for HDR that one year. And this year @ SB roybisel trained extensively online to prep for the tournament and placed second.

This is just tournament listings I’d say every person to try ggpo against players with good connections improves quite a bit. Damn near every player in the vampire savior room has upped their game.

very few cases my ass. Playable net code makes EVERY player better.

If the freking game would let us select who we want to play against and what’s their connectivity like SF4 series.
Then the netcode would be great but u can’t so it SUCKS!

I love joining lobbies that have the best connection possible and then have HORRIBLE lag. Getting hit from random supers because the game registered a dash backwards, or it not being possible to do Wolverines Weapon X, cause it registers the D,D super instead. I Also love having to slow down just all inputs to do pretty much any super, otherwise you are doing dashes into your opponents shit.

Wasn’t this netcode suppose to be the Jesus Christ of netcodes? Something along the lines of “lightspeed”?

They said that, but it’s mediocre as usual. Capcom has the GGPO license now, right? So they can start designing their games to work with it?

So, when did MvC3 on 360 decide to randomly drop your ranked match online? This is happening often enough to warrant a complaint. And no, it’s not the opponent dropping because a few of them contacted me about it and we discussed the issue.

I just dont bother with lobbies or ranked. I just go player matches and hope I find someone who I can rematch a couple of times. I do try to land the combos I’ve practiced but with very very mixed results…
I really don’t care about dlc or spectator/replay, I just want online to be better =/

Online doesn’t look like its going to get any better. With the recent interview stating the bogus reason why spectator mode wasn’t added and Capcom not acknowledging anything (except that it was “lightning fast”, probably within Japan <-> Japan) about the netcode being bad or even fixing the network problems of connecting…I’m pretty sure online is gonna be for casuals. If you wanna be competitive, no way online is gonna help you in any way for this game.

If they don’t fix the online, this thing might as well be a coaster to me. Training mode and a.i. only go so far…

It’s wrong to to believe them when they say they reach their level of skill by playing specific players online in those games? I understand that the netcode for said games are problematic but it shouldn’t be out of the question. There is a reason why I said few cases.

Don’t get your hopes up, they’ve had the GGPO license for a long time, they had it before SF4 was released on console.
Capcom are too busy counting the money from people buying their games regardless of how incomplete they are (and that includes me :().

Yeah…that didn’t happen.

You know, SSF4 was never this bad for me, and I’m wireless. 1 out of maybe 15 or so games I’ll start getting some random lag spikes or whatever, but its mostly pretty fine on my end.

But this game? F***ing hell, THIS GAME. And of course, the closet scene is a good 2 hour drive before I even get into the city limits.

Yay.

TBQH, ssf4’s netcode probably would not have been so bad if the game didn’t rely so heavily on 1f links. It not have been as acceptable as GGPO, but it would still hit all of your combos + learning fundamentals.

This game is friggin impossible though

At this point can we do something about this situation? Is it naive of me to think that the entire MVC3 community has the right to demand a fix? At least for the matchmaking there’s got to be a way to fix the horrible matchmaking.

So far we’ve all posted our horrible experiences, most including me don’t even try anymore because it’s hopeless the matchmaking is ASS, the netcode is ASS. But just talking about it on SRK i don’t see this going anywhere really. The front page shows new characters and costumes but so far i haven’t seen SRK pull together and get something going. I remember an IGN article that mentioned a patch for connection loss but haven’t heard anything since are people still following up on that?

Did anybody read what Niitsuma said concerning the spectator mode? I really thought more people would be pissed over that shitty excuse…

We have a right to demand a fix. The problem is, we’re in no position to really drive it home. We already bought the game. As far as Capcom’s concerned, they already won.

Our best bet is to get at them for the next game down the road. MvC3’s netcode is lost. But it will be avenged.

Well, it does help that I play Balrog and Adon, who are pretty straight forward characters who don’t rely on 1f links to deal damage lol. But yeah, I can see how if you’re trying to play Viper or Makoto or some shit, even the slightest lag would throw off your game.

And I thought originally, “well, there’s no 1f links to learn in MvC3, even if its SSF4’s netcode, I’ll be ok!”

Boy was I wrong >_>

isnt there a possibility that we can all bitch about it on capcom-unity forums? because yes indeed doing it on SRK will not help

No because it will all get pushed back by stupid shit like “WE WANT MEGAMAN X”.

Was I the only one who started running for the hills when that article about MvC3’s Netcode being as fast as the “Speed of Light” hit the front page?

So is netplay noticeably better on 360 than psn?
