My biggest issue is not being able to connect to games. I keep on dropping connections why trying to search. It’s very annoying. The lag is also a big deal but I would like to at least get into a game.

I’m actually getting decent games after the patch. Only 1 out of 10 games has been unplayable. I was able to land mag’s c.l,c.m,c.h,s,j.h,adf,j.m,j.h,fly,j.m,j.h… etc combo pretty consistently.
online this game is ass. just like ssf4 and sf4. but offline this game is awesome. please patch it.
So to everyone who is having a bad experience of lag, which 2d fighting games have worked well for you online?

Just my two cents: I haven’t had any problems with lag since the launch. Finding a match? Sometimes when I search, but usually I’m in training mode with fight request on and never have any problems.
Like, seriously, the only problems I’ve had are disconnects that mysteriously happen when I finish off a player with Wesker lvl3.
I can’t say I agree. When I play other people in New York or close to it the input lag is very low compared to marvel, maybe like a frame or 2. Trust me, I’m no fan of sf4 netcode but it’s a much more solid online experience than marvel. Even when testing with a friend around the corner I got a good 5 frames of input lag. Our ping to our isp is like 10. It’s a fucking joke. Playing random raked games is just insane. I’ll go anywhere from 1/4th to 1/2 a second of input lag. The game being faster doesn’t make it more noticeable because shitty input delay is noticed right away in any fighting game regardless of the speed.
SSF4 online is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse than mahvel 3 here in europe as far as i can tell…

Found one dude who i had a decent connection with and it was fantastic. This game is so much fun when it works, and it only worked once so far, it’s definitely fucked and i don’t see Capcom fixing anything anytime soon not with people whining over Sentinel, whining over X-Factor which i think is a little too powerful at the moment but definitely holding my judgment until much later in the game.
I remember Skisonic saying people should start yelling and marching demanding GGPO for MVC3 when it was still early in development, i guess people were busy asking for Megaman instead.

no, even after the patch the game is still pretty fucking garbage online.
Its only fine when you play zone, cause there isn’t that many just frames in that type of game play. I have landed my spidey full combo less than 3 times online and I can do it 15-20 times in a row in training mode without fucking up.
so if you stay back and shoot shit, you’ll be ok. Trying to play rush down properly online is just awful. Everything comes out super fucking late and the only way to work around it is to get used to this 6-10+frame input delay…
by the time I input SJ, air dash, BB, land, dash forward, c.lk x2 with spidey, the game has only inputted my first air dash B. I’m literally 4 moves ahead of what the screen is showing then if I stop to see if the combo has worked, I fucked up my timing cause I gotta play 4 moves ahead. Literally impossible to react online.
Even if it is SF4 netcode, it obviously doesn’t work as well in MVC3.

I’ll say this much right now, after that recent patch, the netcoding for this game has gotten even worse…if not “Shit Tier” bad already (of course, I’m talking about the Xbox ver. for now. Haven’t tried the PS3 ver. as of yet which Im getting ready to do right now).

Presuming it’s placebo though, since the patch allegedly doesn’t change anything netcode centric
It’s a mandatory install patch. Don’t know when it was exactly released, but the euro release which was up at a later time than it’s American counterpart, was up approx 12hrs ago.
MikuruX: Apparently the patch only consisted of making way for future DLC content (shadow mode) Though many of us have found loading times that have been significantly shortened, moreso at the char select screen and before matches. Though main menu loading is still gruesome on the PS3, its only been substituted by ‘searching for downloadable content’ instead of ‘updating player info’
Other than that, my online experience is still the same, unfortunately. Can’t search same region opponents in ranked or lobby matches, the hanging screen of death is still persistent. With the rest of all the good stuff capcom had in store for us all this time, actual in-game playability aside. :sigh:
