The level of play in those HnK matches is just phenomenal.
Edit: we might have a couple new people from the Tipton area next time.

Awesome. Do you need a specific file format? I use a Vado HD and everything is in AVI.
Kyle, it’s been awhile since either of us played so a couple more times and matches will start to look more broken in true HNK style.
No specific format I’m aware of but I’ll double check tomorrow to make sure.
Maybe I could actually learn to play the game instead of just…doing w/e it is that I do in that game…
Hey everyone… I’m sorry to imform all of you that the next meet may be my last one with you guys. I know we just kind of got this shit started… and I do hope that you all do continue to do these meetings, and level up. The reason that I will not be making it out there to future meetings, is because I am moving back to San Diego. Things have not been going to well with me over here in Indiana, I am getting shit hours at work, and it is just not enough to pay the bills. I will be moving back to San Diego in a couple weeks, where I can continue my job with fedex, just at the San Diego location… and there I will be saving my money to go to school, while I can live at home with my parents while I do this. I am really sorry about this… I know we just got these meetings started, but I do hope that you guys continue to do what I was trying to start here. It really does help if you guys continue to do these level up sessions… just last week, San Diego placed 2nd at “The Specialist” team tournament in LA. We even took down LA teams, and have proved that these gatherings really do help you improve your game alot. Maybe you guys can do this alot more, and prove to be a threat in the midwest scene. I just hope that when Super comes out, a lot more people are interested and dedicated enough to improve themsleves. I met a lot of great people here, and I will miss all of you guys. I hope that what I brought here will make an impact as far as the fighting game community. Good Luck to you guys, I won’t forget the times we shared.
If anyone wants to stay in contact with me, I do have a facebook account (pm me for info), and I also have aim. Hopefully soon I will get a console as well… so maybe we can play some games online. Anyways, take care to all of you… the next time you see me at the meeting, will be my last.
Well I’m sorry to see you go Slaps, and I hope you have better luck in San Diego.
You have to search a little about to find combos and strategies for that game. Gamefaqs has a couple of characters’ info. There aren’t really any tutorial vids either. Any vid of HNK is high level or a ridiculous 100 + hit combo vid. The game is like free art, just do whatever you want but there are so many options it gets confusing of what to do next. I learned some neat and easy to do Souther combos I’m gonna post up.
Will, good games man. You and Paul pretty much got this whole thing going. I just show up and play. Maybe I’ll run into you I Cali when I go back out there.
There definitely has been a lot of improvement from everyone in everything. If the same 2 or 3 people are always playing each other they will eventually level out. With a dozen there’s more chance of someone showing up with something new that others haven’t seen. Pretty much just Justin and I have played 3s against each other for the past year and a half so I was surprised to see 4 setups of 3s going one night, lol.
Dustloop has a subforum for Hokuto no Ken: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41
It’s not as complete and organized as the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue forums but it still has a lot of information and even gets some new posts/discussion on occasion.
Is anyone interested in getting some BBCS going at the next session?
will- sorry to see that things didn’t work out for you in indy. i hope everything works out for the best in sd. i’d like to thank you for helping get these gathering going. i’ve seen myself and others improve their game.
this should happen more often, IMO.
All the cool people play 3s,They see us and think,I want to be like them!As long as we keep playing they’ll have something to strive to be.LOL!
Will - hey dude it has been nice meeting and playing with you over the past month. Sadly we can’t all be so lucky to move out to San Diego. Best of luck to you there and hopefully you’ll get some top placings in SSF4. You can keep an eye out on us through the end of May to see who qualified for the state team and how we fare against our surrounding Midwest states.
I will be attending the meeting tomorrow for the very last time… I hope to see everyone there, so i can say my good byes. It has been a real pleasure meeting you guys, and playing against you guys.
paul- we starting earlier like last week?
Hmmm… so apperently it’s this weekend is it? This throws quite a wretch in my plans. I’ll see what I can do.
well I guess some poeple are coming over today, If you wanna stop by feel free, just give me a call.

yeah sorry paul, I thought we were meeting up this last weekend…
anyways… wow that one combo i learned does 474 damage! Im gonna start trying to use it some matches, lol.
well guys I had to move out of my house.
I’ll have the internet up and running tomorrow, so I will update you folks on what potential gathersings I can still manage to hold.
Since it seems like people are willing to trip down to muncie. I am considering getting a room at the convention ccenter, or maybe just using the Skatepark for the RANBATS were gonna need to run once super comes out.
I’m hoping that I can get a room in the convention center for next to nothing, in this town.
I’ll keep you guys posted.
alrighty paul… dogworth told me that I can get a ride from him for my last meeting with you guys… I hope that is still on for this weekend. Anyways, let me know if we are meeting up this weekend or not… this is my last week of work… actually last few days of work, lol. I just got a call this morning confirming my reloaction… so I will still be able to keep my job at fed ex, I am just transfering to the san diego location. I leave at the end of next week… picking up my last paycheck, and then im hitting the road… so i really hope we can meet up this weekend.
Midwest Championships 2010 is in 30 days,** but there are only 15 days left toreserve your hotel room at the discounted rate of $69/night.** On top of our great tournaments, I wanted to remind you all that there is a door prize raffle. Simple paying the venue fee enters you in the raffle to win one of the many cool prizes. In the raffle are 5 Tournament Edition Madcatz Arcade Sticks, so you could be going home with one of these babies! On top of that, the $1,000 pot bonus on Super SF4 is being split separately from the normal prize pool, meaning that everyone in the SSF4 top 8 gets some money. More people in the money = more happy players.
This is the very first Super SF4 major, and we are also playing a stupid number of other games. Its anEvo qualifier, and we are giving away 16 trophies for various titles. Please come out and show your support for the Midwest fighting game scene, and of course, have an amazing time. See you in 30 days!
there are still some options for sessions in Muncie.
I can have about 4 setups going at my new place and easily host 10-12 ppl.
Also, I have free access to large room above a downtown bar in Muncie. We could hold gatherings or tourneys there, but it would have to be 21 and older only : / im looking into getting around that issue (mabey if I issue wristbands we can get around it)
Im also looking into a couple of other places.
But I am trying to assure that we are still going to have a place to run qualifiers before MWC here in Muncie.
Honestly how many of the ppl who were coming to my house were underage.
most of you at least look 21 and so long as you dont go try to buy beer as an underage person there shouldnt be any trouble.
Fighting to keep it alive
