1 what’s your OS
- ram?
OS = windows XP server pack 2
RAM = 1 Gig
Video card = onboard
The Video card might be the problem.
I have a gig of ram and XP Pro SP 2 and it runs fine.
Download my other game CTRL ALT DEL and see if that runs for you
The problem seems to come from the Shenlong character. If you delete the folder from the chars folder, the mugen loads up normally. So there you go.

mugen isn’t "compiled"
It is a huge no-no in the mugen community to distribute characters and other creations that you did not create. You should know this if you spend time on the forums, which I’m sure you do if you know how to “compile” a mugen!
The never ending quest to warehouse with an excuse continues. Sigh, first here, then this site, and that site and another site, featuring the same shit and never credits anyone and distributes everyone elses work but his own if he actually did anythng besides upload large files abusing free hosts like normal.
Expect the same scenario as before with your Im going to save everyone the trouble of downloading mugen material and illegally host them with an excuse to help others.
And he wonders why many left the scene or act like they way we do.

I was unimpressed afterwards though. It’s fun for about 5 minutes until you see wtf scenerios like sonic characters, sora and GG characters owning everyone else.
some of those characters are in there for friends. This whole game was made for my friend Aaron and tossed together in about 3 days. Posting it on line was an afterthought.
I’m not expecting rave reviews, I thought the CVS characters were more broken than the GG Characters.

For the record most creators I have talked to or have been spoken to on my behalf are cool with this. I help them get more exposure which helps mugen.
Linking to their site gives them exposure, not compiling a game of things…care to post a list of people ‘down’ with this idea to verify?

Okay, here’s the argument again.
Please enlighten me, for someone on the outside looking in, why guys “creating”(in a good deal of what I’ve seen out of old MUGEN creations there’s not much creating, either it’s completely new, or just a hack job that came out passable) these characters are so protective of said characters? Why the hell did you post it on the web at all? Are they getting money out of this? Are the people compiling Mugen gamepacks getting any money for it? In my opinion, they created this stuff in order for it to be shared. If not, why go through all the trouble of using someone else’s engine and in most cases, someone else’s hard work from years past? The only people who have any right complaining are those that have built characters from scratch.
I’m just trying to understand this whole thing so I can make judgement on if threads like this should be closed on sight, or if I should ban all parties involved, or just the guys following him around, or just him.
This argument is a bit different from the argument laid out in the last thread. In this case, Michiyo_Yoshiku is stating that this is “his game”. There were mentions of Warusaki, which is a step up from most, but the general feel is that this is Michiyo’s game. The sentiment hits hard for someone who’s worked for days/weeks trying to authentically simulate a single character or make their own character from scratch. It’s especially terrible when it goes out on eBay, like a fake Ebaum’s World. This is not the case here.
Compare this to someone simply sharing what they have. It changes from, “Michiyo’s game is awesome,” to, “These characters are great. Thanks for saving us time downloading these individually.” Each character and stage was worked on by numerous people. To say a configuration/set of characters is “someone’s MUGEN” shifts credit. As much as people that work on MUGEN seem like they’re circle-jerking to others, the “compilers” and warehousers are circle-jerking with little-no work involved in the eyes of the MUGEN “scene”.
I haven’t the slightest clue of the cast of characters in this as I’
m unwilling to download 670 megs to see what is there. It would be nice to see.
My stance on all of this: I don’t like the stripping of names from characters. I don’t like “compilations”. I don’t expect people to care, but it’s unfortunate that they don’t. I won’t make an issue of it personally, but I’m willing to explain the viewpoint.
In the cases of people messing around with character creation, I hope they learn something from reading the files from any characters I’ve made. Steal all the code you want as long as it helps or isn’t a thorough rip-off. If it helped, I’m glad.

What’s keeping you from simply stating who/where you got each character from Michiyo? I know if you insert some garbage character in front of a line in the char config file you can type whatever the fuck you want. Put “so and so’s Evil Dan” on each character, stick the recognition somewhere in the ending credits, and maybe these guys will get off your back. If you really want to make them happy just give the creator(if they can be found) a heads up or ask them if it’s cool. In theory it should be, if you got your hands onto their character then it was meant for distribution. If it isn’t cool then the MUGEN scene is a horrible caricature of what it was in its infancy.
Still waiting for words from Michiyo’s “opposition” before I pass judgement.

ONLY talk about gripes with the actual game here.
It’s still my game, I did add the music I did photoshop the cover art and I did weaken and strengthen some characters for balence.
so I did do some work.
Next game I’ll make no aplogies or attempts to please mugen’s old guard. Everything else I post from here on out is “My game With help from…”
I put alot more work into these games than you or the old guard think there’s more to this than just download characters and stages. Starting with this game I’m modifying characters.
No, they’re NOT gonna take their beef to that thread. They’re gonna air it out once and for all here. And after that I’ll take the action necessary to make sure stupid situations like this don’t happen again.
