So Pierre, you’re saying no more walk-ins? Exclusive to founders? I remember not too long ago you seemed to encourage new competition… And those Blazblue guys, they became founders because at first it was available to them by walk-ins, just checking the place out. I’m sure when it comes to buying new gear and keeping HQ healthy & running, 5$ a head probably helps at least just a bit. A little accounting doesn’t make it a business necessarily.
But what I really don’t understand is why all this tension between MTLSF & Foonzo? ‘People are cheap and would rather not pay to play’ I think is not applicable if anyways you don’t want non-founders at HQ. And if founders go there, well its at their loss, what does it matter to the HQ… just less cleaning up. Foonzo looks like a chill place, just like MTLSF, so what. Just another place where people play SF, even owned by people who have supported you guys for a while.

Ok so here is the deal, like it or not honestly I dont really care at this point because we gave back so much to the community and in return we get called drama queens / haters / and what not lol …
The History of the HQ :
As NCBA closed down for whatever reason it did ( in not getting into this ) the regulars from there (the people you can consider the ones that drive this community) we decided that without a place pretty much we would all be here and there in a basement playing little gatherings. So we did some research we made plans we made choices … we ended up announcing we are opening our own little place for us to train hard level up and offer local tournaments and what not… our own ARC if you wanna put it in these words.
So came the time to decide how we would split the rent and we decided that 200$ each to cover 6 months plus buying equipment and what not was the right price to put on the table. The majority accepted this price as they understood what it takes to start up a place like this. We had decided this would NOT be a business like NCBA, 2000, Foonzo or whatever place else that is a real Business. So we talked and talked and talked … how can we let casual people come to play with us help them have a place to use and what not. We came up with the idea to offer 40$ monthly subscription or 5$ walk in … I didn’t want that but we did it for the rest of Montreal to have a place to enjoy and it would help us keep the place longer and what not.
As things went it was all good and what not … I and other have worked hard (while working full time jobs) to keep the place running most days of the week… it got to a point where I would go there and no one would show up and yada yada …
So forward a few months down the line we gave enough to the people and they always expect us to bend over for them…
So now we do Nemesis and suddenly no one besides the regulars come to HQ… now tell me WHY would we bend over again to everyone to make them happy ? We are looking into a solution where walk ins are still welcome but not 7 days a week because we dont have time and we are not a business. Walk ins might end up being Tuesdays / Friday / Saturdays only we dont know we are still talking about all this. Its not my decision 100% so I wont write more about it. But is people complain I welcome them to try to run HQ for 1 month! All that being said … Founder accounts have now dropped to 150$ and still we are not the exact number to cover the 6 other months of the lease. I think I’ve said enough for now… There is A LOT coming to HQ as we will announce slowly this week … so I think being a founder or a regular at HQ has its price with a reason now.

Oh yeah About BlazBlue … they have been good to us and very respectful.
They now have two founders part of the HQ and have two dedicated days a week.
Brice from their community is now a Key holder because I have worked a trust with him and he’s one to help cleanup when he closes the HQ. So pretty much Thursday / Sunday are reserved to BlazBlue but we still can go play SFF4 … and the Saturdays where its no SF events they try to run their main events.
They deserve this as they at least help unlike other people !
