Actually as the thread states MSP vs. SSCable. I want to know how to beat MSP with SScable theories match ups best way of getting rid of magneto and vidoes also would be helpful. Which team is better lets get a good discussion going on
I don’t play SSCable, but I do play Storm/Sent, but SSCable is one of the best teams in the game, and better than MSP as well.
The key here is to not let Sent die. If you lose Sent with SSCable, 90% of the time you’re going to lose the match. Also, you want to kill Magneto and make sure he does not survive. If you don’t kill him, there’s is potential that he will ruin you later on.
I’m not too familiar about the matchup though, so others should help me out on this one.
well there only 2 big advantages this team has over msp, Storm/Drones. And Cable comeback.
Sentinel/Psimatar is really good, but Storm or mag/psy can fight it.,
i think the match could go 4 to 6 in SSCable’s favor.
any stratgies that would be helpful because my friends mags is better than my storm so im not the highest level player wheni t comes to storm but some stratagies would be helpful
don’t play with mag at the start, just block and get away.
Start zoning him out with drones, and Cable AAA.
Put him in a position you want then counter his ass.

Aight this is Info i Posted on the team’s match ups a LONG time ago so if anyone feels something is incorrect then please comment, i wrote this in a time i knew nothing, and i still don’t know anything lol.
Scrub- lets see cable is 100% keep away, mag is 100% rush down, take 50 % of both and you get storm. Storm is pretty much the textbook character to go up agianst cable. Storm can run away with low health, and if you feel it’s time, RUSH. storm can ALWAYS keep up with cable, and pressure the dying cable with a SAFE hailstorm. As for when senti comes in…HAHAHAHAHA…this is the best part… RUN the fuck away and watch as how senti will try to shoot you down with CAPCOM AAA. remember to KEEP running, wait for when senti throws that hp and bam, alpha counter into cable and AHVB that bitch after, start to pressure with hp, hp, hp, drones, gernades, and etc. then capcom can be beat with anyone.
MSP- if you are planning to take this team with SSC then you really love that team and not realizing how bad of a match up this is, first off, if you get caught by Mag…GAME OVER THANK YOU FOR PLAYING MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2. either that or you can pray for the mag player to fuck up. BUT if you really wanna win with it, then start with jump+block+Cable AAA, then RUN. after this, try to zone mag with drones and tri jump rushs if he isn’t on your tail. if so keep running, and dashing back, building meter, and CHIP CHIP CHIP, CAUSE WITH STORM IT’S CHIPS A HOY. IF you beat mag and storm is still in tac go for the gaurd break with storm( dash, sj, air dash forward, lk pause, lk mk, LA xx LS. then dhc to drones then continue with either another drone super or dash hk…etc., then the match is in your favor. with senti vs storm, storm will run away because she knows she can’t go head to head with senti without frustrating the senti player first with alittle run away. With senti, hold your ground against her, and watch for her sj dash up tornado(veriaty) and just dash in between and time a pimastar up her ass, when she comes down flight mode up, and hit her with the top of senti’s j.hp, unfly, fly, lk, continue to bring her down, and etc. then mix it up. WATCH OUT for PSYLOCKE. if you are going to rush her with a flight lk, hk+ assist, or c.lk. s.mp, rp xxx drones, make sure to stick those in places they can’t block, in knockdowns from flight mode hp, or in mix ups. then Psylocke will be a piece of cake.
SANTRAX/MATRIX- the only big difference in these two are the assist which will dictate either them rushing or turtling. SANTRAX = turtle, MATRIX = rush. when playing matrix. play to zone, zone storm, and make sure to get good rushs in with storm. then when senti comes watch out for cyclops aaa into quick fast fly combo that takes 75% plus life. AS FOR CYCLOPS, DON’T SLOW DOWN, BELIEVE ME CYCLOPS CAN HOLD HIS OWN. stay on cyclops, if you have senti at this point, watch for when cyclop will do his QCF+KK beams when you try to flight mode to him. if you ever block one of his supers, alpha counter into AHVB if cyclops is in reach. SANTRAX…agian zone on storm, basicly same as matrix storm. if your storm dies then get ready to hustle. if you can get in combo make sure not to fuck up because you WILL eat CAPCOM AAA and have to work for that all over agian. IF you can get an alpha counter into AHVB then good news the tides have turned, cause now u will be doing the running/keep way game. make good use of cable’s options with drones and you will be fine. OBVIOUSLY i don’t need to start saying that you can rape commando with any of SSC’s characters because everyone knows you can.
CLOCKWORK- clockwork is a team made for strider, it has chipping abilities, as well as some punishing combos. the main idea on how to beat clockwork with SSC is to take strider out as soon as possible WITHOUT taking damage, at the start of the match do not attack, strider switch glitch c.lp will beat out storms c.lp with the switch glitch. start the match by blocking+ CABLE AAA. if they try to punish your cable by an early orbs+doom, dash back, typhoodxxxhailstorm. the typhood should eat te orbs and doom, and the hailstorm will punish both. then sj and start meter building. WATCH OUT FOR TELEPORT CROSS UPS WITH DOOM. pushblock strider away and then when the rocks finish sj and keep meter building, or attack strider if he has no meter. IF you feel you can cross him up with drones+ square jump hp hk( sj, dash forward, cross up hp( remember to hold the joystick in the direction of strider when you cross him up) then hk) dash finish with a combo, i would recommend lk+cable AAA, mk xxx hailstorm.
TO SUM THE FIGHT UP WITH STRIDER. run if strider has meter, attack SAFELY if he doesn’t, remember to keep and eye out for the cross up teleport with doom, this is a very good orb trap opening strider can use.
if storm has survived the fight pat yourself on the back cause the rest of the fight is cake. SENTI/DOOM has very little air control, this is why it best to tag out once you’ve killed strider, if you can try to hit strider when he dies with hk into tag out with cable BEFORE HE HITS THE GROUND, THAT WAY IT HITS AND CABLE WILL COME IN WITH ENOUGH TIME GAURDBREAK. at this point cable/ drones can own, and storm pro. assist can take care of rocks.
lastly doom will be cake UNLESS he has meter. if he does, continue to use cable/drones, but try to stay on the same level as doom because doom will continue to sj up pink beam super your ass to either chip or actually punish something you wiffted, doom might go and try to dash in c.lk.cmk, launch , blah, blah. over all the match gets easier as you kill the characters( pretty much like all fights).
ok time for SPIRAL/CABLE/SENTI
in my mind i could not think of an even HARDER HIGH LEVEL PLAY MATCH UP…BUT HER GOES NOTHING.
TEAM DUC DO- OK…no matter which way you look at this is going to be an up hill climb to victory. the best way to do this is OBVIOUSLY to take down spiral without taking much chip damage. first off spiral is going to get those knives out no matter which way you look at it, the best thing you could do is minimize the usefulness of the knives. to do this first off STOP her from calling knives, she will stop any tri jump rush with drones, and any ground dash rushes with cable’s AAA. backing storm up with drones while you rush isn’t a bad idea, BUT DON’T ABUSE IT. WHEN spiral takes the knives out AVOID being on the same level with her, sj hp runaway game at that point is a good idea( A. it will build meter, B. it will keep spiral off you). trying to cross up sprial safely with drones+ square jump is a good idea as well, but don’t abuse it, if you find yourself get caught by CABLE’s AAA it’s not a hopeless get caught by spiral jumping knives situation. ONE of storms OUTSTANDING ABILITIES is FLOATING. FLOATING WILL help you avoid some of the knives on the way down, and if you haven’t already used Lighting Attack to stay away then use it now to stay in the air longer to avoid more knives. EVENTUALLY sprial is going to get you in the knives trap, when this happens pushblock the 3rd knife, then sj out. if the spiral player times it right by calling senti when you have the chance to sj, he will call more knives and throw them fullscreen away. you will still be able to sj out when they finish. overall the perfect get away from the trap is only taking 2 or 3 sets of the knives, any more will lead to SERIOUS CHIPAGE. IF THE SPIRAL PLAYER MAKES THE MISTAKE OF CALLING THE KNIVES UNSAFELY DON’T HESITATE TO LA XXX LS HER.
OK…( TAKES A BREATH TO CONTINUE) time for cable. when cable come in HOPEFULLY you still have storm, if so then GAURDBREAK THAT ASSWHIP AND DHC INTO DRONES, and hopefully you have enough meter after the s.hp, hp rocket punch follow up to get another drone super in. then rush over and begin to finish him off. make sure to stay on cable as much as you can. Cable/drones is TOUGH to get in on with senti, but it can be done if you play it safe. UNLESS you have unfly do not sj, and stick out a lk, or hp. keep chasing cable with flight mode senti, MAKE SURE NOT TO USE A MOVE BEFORE OR WHEN IN SENTI FLIGHT MODE OR ELSE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UNFLY BLOCK, UNLESS YOU HAVE THE UNFLY GLITCH. Once you get in on him mix it up with senti with over head flight mode lk, hk stomps with cable’s AAA which will send cable flying and let do hk drones to keep him on lockdown when he comes back to nj( normal jump) screen this will let you continue to stay on him( when you dash up to him after he blocks the drones, call storms pro. assist then grab him, after the grab cable will be hit by the typhood and will let you get in a dash up hk into fast fly combo. if you grab him in the corner you will not need storm, you can just c.lp. c.hp, fastfly lk, mk rocket punch if you don’t have meter for the drone super. IF you do then go for c.lp c.hp , hp rocket punchxxx drones super. then dash hk, fastfly , or reset or whatever you can think of/do to cause major damage to deal with cable. DON’T NOT GET CAUGHT BY CABLE/DRONES HP HP HP HP DRONES, GERNADE SEMI TRAP. this WILL keep cable away from you which is what you DON’T WANT.
FINALLY…HOW TO BEAT SENTI
An unassist senti isn’t the hardest thing to beat, but he can give you problems, if you ever get the chance alpha counter into cable into AHVB him. if not then continue to fight, YOU CAN TAGOUT when you kill cable, but you will lose the chance for a GAURDBREAK unless you manage to hit cable win he dies with either dash lp tagout or hk before cable hits the ground then tagout. Unassist senti will not be hard to beat with cable/drones. IM SURE YOU ALL know how to beat him at this point with it. in a semi annoy situation where cable manage to alpha counter into senti xxx safe drones, you should alpha counter him back when senti will do c.hp into a either fly forward senti, or fly unfly this will let you get a safe alpha counter with cable , and if the player times it wrong and misses the unfly motion or button you get the hit and get to coninue the offense, And if cable did survive and he is the last character than you can just dash nj hp gaurdbreak dash forward into down/forward hp+ drone assist into aircombo lp lk mp hk, sending the character down into drones then you come down lp hit ground, s.hk sj cancel AHVB( very good crowd winning combo.)

I believe i should delete that stuff, after reading some of it, my Explantions don’t make sense. Notice how i even contradict myself on the first post saying msp vs sscable is 4 to 6 in SSCables favor, and that in my match up post from like 2 years ago msp is some how really better than sscable when it’s not true.

you clockwork match up theory is wrong.
no real ssd player would start strider against sscable or ss anything. Its suicide.
and if you think sj-ing is going to help you get away from s\d, its not. All I have to say is watch out for that BOMB.

incase you don’t have a clue who i am, i was the guy playing makoto at the university at the first jax tourney, and as you can tell i didn’t have a clue how to play 3s lol.
I’m not an expert compared to the amount of time clock and kaising have put into s\d. Even though I have ran that team for years, I’m still a rookie compared to them.
I dont want to give away any thing that will potentially stop s\d from winning. I would be bascially telling people how to beat me. S\D is tough enough to play as it is. The last thing I need is people picking up better strats to beat me.
all you need to do with storm vs mag is mash rh and drones
i’ll have to go with sscable. charge for 2-3 meters, then go for LS DHC HSF -> more or less mags is dead.
But if you know they know what you are going to do you can approach them in a different manner than usaul because you know what they are looking for right?
Regardless if they know or don’t know what you will do, it’s you that needs to know what they will do so you can counter. I mean i can understand not giving up mix ups and stuff, but you could tell what to look out for, and what is strider’s best options vs the Tops.
Starting Sentinel = GGPO
Sentinel owns MSP free. Most Sentinel comebacks are off of MSP. Random snapout, Unblockable Psy is Godlike.

Yeah, you’re probably right. high chances of double snap, not to mention there is no 100% escaping first hit at the match start. Storm is better to start off, but ultimately, Sentinel can take MSP apart from there.
