I don’t use MSP alot because I face alot of aerial Sentinels & Cables.
My Storm’s rushdowns suck and my comp never jumps in close enuf for Psy.
So I reverted 2 MSCyke and I do a little better, but is this team anygood against rushdowns, campers, etc?
yes, in fact i believe it’s better than msp.
why?, because of the fact that cyc anti air covers all that space infront of mag, mag and storm get free rushdowns. Psy doesn’t cover that space, she only gives mag and storm easier set ups, but whats the point if you can’t get in.
you have to get closer with psy than cyc to make your assist a threat.
msp the anti-air isnt strictly meant for anti-airs so don’t view it like that. its mainly for resets/extending combos. cyke can combo, but its meant much more for anti-airs which is greatly needed against sent and storm.
It’s definitely a good team. I’d suggest just learning the good Mag/Storm teams because they can serve different purposes. MSP for when you need that random hit, MSS-A for Sent/Capcom, Mag/Cyke for persistent + safe rushdown or countering, etc…
I don’t think MSCyke is better than MSP. Yeah, it’s got fewer bad matchups, but MSP can be more lethal than just about anything else. =/ Justin’s MSCyke is ridiculously good, though.
Mag/Cyke works really well. It’s easy to combo off Cyke (go into air combo, triple fierce, etc.) and Cyke cuts through a lot of good assists (Commando, Sent-A, Tron, Doom, and so on), so if you can cover him good, he’s definitely useful.
Really, I always thought they didn’t work well together.
And it seems like Justin’s everything is good.

preppy has the ultimate marvel dvds up and on disc 2, mixup uses mscyke alot.
IMHO MSP is just much easier to play with. It doesnt take much execution to do the basics with MSP,but with MSC, u need better execution and experience to do the basics. A brand new player could probably pick up MSP and do some combos, but can that same new play do much with MSC? I like cyclops tho cause he doesnt die nearly as easily as psyloche. Plus, when psyloche comes in vs Sentinel, thats almost a free unblockable.
Yeah, MS Cyc = Safer and fewer counter matchups
MSP = faster and more dangerous.
I prefer MSP over MS Cyc though because I’m more comfortable with them. And yes, Justin’s MS Cyc is definitely worth looking at, especially this year at EVO.
I like MSCyke. It’s safe, less random in counters, and doesn’t rely upon that random hit.
Personally, however, I think an even buffer version of this team is Mag/Sent/Cyke, with Sentinel on Ground assist. I like the option of being able to pressure with both drones and Cyke AAA, and you also have the proven combination of Sent/Cyke if something happens to Magneto.
Yeah, I’m definitely no pro but I like playing Mag/Sent/Cyke as well.

Mag Sent Cyke is a great team like the person above me said. Mag Cyke works very well together annoying to some ppl who arent used to playing against cyke assist wit Mag on point. And even if Mag gets destroyed you have Sent Cyke and unblockable set ups.

c.lk+AAA, c.lk, dash foward and after the last hit you sj. hk, addf, lk, lk.
you dont even need the HK, its just easier.
i noticed justin often abuses:
AAA, sj hp, addf, HP / c.lk, c.lk, delay, s.hk+AAA
mid screen you can mix in rectangle jumps for better pressure
the teams all about just waiting for them to get hit by cyke and hailstorm or typical LA xx LS. and good pressure by storm often results iin quite a bit of AAA action
if you know about it, that means you’ve seen the video. Can’t you just look back on it and copy it? isn’t that why videos exists?
theres more to it than that. He will mixup where he calls his cyke to throw off the GC spot. Doing the rep like that is almost guranteed blockstun unless you can guess which setup he’s going for or if he fucks up.
he may even do the same pattern but he will always call his cyke in a different spot.
I noticed it because thats how you play s\d. If you constantly do the same rep, you will get guard cancelled eventually. However, if you mixup how you call doom or rechain, you create different guard cancel spots and that keeps the opponent in block stun longer. Which means more pressure and easier hits.
storms 50\50’s behind a long block stun pattern is something that no one wants to go against.
too fast for me, I watch em on youtube, so crappy quality + fast gameplay = Confused
EDIT: Besides, a majority of the time justin uses Matrix, I had found 1 vid of his MScyke, but I’m tryin to find it.
