I have been using my HAPP competition with regular spring for about 4 years now on a ps1 board. I need to get a new stick for xbox360/ps3 and I want a japanese stick. I don’t have much experience with either sanwa or seimitsu sticks, but heard that the sanwa JLF’s have varying degrees of looseness when new and break easily- and semitsu’s springs click out when pushed hard to a corner, but they are closer to a comp in stiffness. I play hawk and gief about 1/2 of the time/ deejay/dictator/sagat the other in ST. Oh, and I have fairly big hands and I know that the seimitsu’s sit lower than sanwa’s… Any other feedback would help…
uh, i dunno who told you that JLFs break easily but theyre wrong. the shaft is solid metal. its a real arcade part and the japanese mash just as hard as americans do
maybe they meant “break in” easily. JP sticks feel a lot looser than american ones though so youll have to get used to that.
i have big hands but i dont really have any issues with JP or american sticks
Either way it is just preference. However I would say go with Sanwa, only because if you ever come across an arcade with japanese parts, they will likely be Sanwa. Other then that both companys produce quality parts.
