It’s basically as if Biff would have kept the sports almanak and shot Doc and Marty in the head.
I was kinda hoping that this thread would be about the next next gen of arcade controls, simmmilar to thengs like in the movie Super Turbo
Q: What exactly does this chronological vortex do?
A: It sucks all the time!
I thought this was a serious topic, then I loled and now i’m preceding to headdesk.
i honestly think pad is superior for tekken(my opinion) because it requires extremely fast reaction (teching 3 different throws) and twitchy movements. where as, for 2D fighters like SF4 it requires more complex button combinations and various stick motions which i think were meant for an arcade stick.
I first started playing CvS2 for ps2 on a pad (cuz i didn’t know arcade sticks existed at the time XP) and I always thought “this is the bees kneez”. I’ve never tried it on a stick, but I play SF4 and MvC2 on stick, and I’m never going to pad for those games.
I kinda agree with you. I haven’t put too much time into it, but I found it harder to play VF5 on stick than pad.
I’m pretty sure this is a “what you’re used to” issue. If you’re talking about teching throws, I’d venture that it’s easier on a stick because you can cover multiple buttons with your more nimble fingers in advance and hit different buttons easier and faster, rather than having just one big clunky thumb which you have to physically move over whichever button(s) you want to use. I’m not saying this is right, but it just feels like it to me.
I play tekken with thumbs, but a lot of people play half mantis style:
thumb on dpad
index, middle and ring finger hitting the buttons
I thought this was going to be about project natal.
try pulling off the srk fadc ultra on the tony hawk RIDE board!
I used to play literally EVERY Sega Saturn game in ‘half mantis’ style (never knew that had a name). I just got used to it after playing VF2 like that all the time.
Activator! Although in practice wasn’t it basically just 2 buttons, depending on how high you moves through the beams?
