It’s called a Z Saber, and it sort of pisses me off that they could have made a few edits to the current black one, but didn’t for whatever reason. Also, different color sabers would have been SICK, but they were too lazy to do it.
I use the blue one, even if kinda remind me that X is not in game, but zero is cool enough to make me forgive capcom about that, and i like the original too only because red is my favorite color.

I like my maverick hunters in red. 
But if I had to chose an alternate color in ultimate it’d be purple zero. Because he reminds me of Vile, who is amazing.

For serious, it mostly depends on what color I want the team in. Zero/Vergil/Dante gets DLC MMX or Blue+White, Zero/Frank/Dante( or Wesker) gets Original colors, and if I’m ever playing Magneto, Vile is required. Purple is the top tier color.
I like all of them except for the Axl and MMZ colors.

I used to use the Blue/White color, due to blue being the best thing ever.
Now I use the Axl color, due to spiderman and doom fitting perfectly with that.

It would be incredible if you could change the color of the z-saber in UMVC3, i mean Black zero with purple saber = The best Zero in the world.
