Most popular arcade fighting games in Japan!

We still have to move forward in regards to new fighting games. We’ve been playing the same shit for like, 8 years straight.

Nobody should play anything they don’t want to. People will play new games as they always have.

and that is the primordial reason that the companies give a shit about us, many people live in the past and are affraid to play more complex and dynamic games:shake:

No, I think that, some people just like to win. A LOT.

Low? I think it’s pretty dang high considering the game WASN’T TARGETED TOWARDS THE JAPANESE ARCADE AUDIENCE AT ALL.

From Day 1, Ono was talking about American audiences and casual players. Targeting retired warriors who haven’t played the game since the Genesis and SNES. Guess what…those people don’t hang around arcades.

Heck, we didn’t even know the game would be getting an arcade release at all until months after SF4 was announced.

SF4 is really not an arcade game. We keep forgetting that…

Except that its pretty popular here in Japan right now.

From the arcades I go to, aside from Tekken, SFIV is easily the most popular game.

The reason why SFIV is so low on that list is probably because not all the arcades have it yet, its only a select few comparitively. The arcades that DO have it are usually swamped, so that averages out with the arcades that have all the other games.

After those two, i see people playing fate:UC next, then arcana/guilty/mb about the same. Im surprised guilty is so high, but it obviously doesnt reflect at all with the arcades i go to.

Yeah, I’m actually surprised people believe SFIV is not popular in Japan.

come come now. I’m sure it hasn;t that many arcades yet. That’s why it isn’t popular. I assume.

Where I’m at, Gundam v. Gudam is king, thier is always a wait to play at any arcade and even the off hour competition is pretty decent.

Next is Tekken 6, it still has cabnets filled from time to time, but it doesn’t fill the 5 v. 5 set like it used to (since early summer).

VF 5 gets no love here, but thier machines are everywere (thanks to a good arcade cabenet)

SF IV is limited supplys and gets some attention (even with limited supplies it’s 50 yen / 400 yen IC here)

Melty Blood, 3S, and Fate can be found but its a niche find.

Oddly enough KOF Reg A gets a lot of attention here.

Which is exactly what I said 2 posts up…

And yeah, GvG is always popular, but im never in that area of the arcade unless im passing by. Its always busy tho, and surprised it didnt beat out GG:AC personally…

1st if its in the top 10, then its popular.
2nd, the number of hits its proportional too the number of cabinets in the market, it doesnt matter if there are a million or merely a few, its basic statistics, if it wasnt that way then this top ten wouldnt be credible

welp, time to put MvC3 on this top 10 list.
i saw it recently at my local Gamestop set up and some people were playing it,
and in the lil’ bit that i saw of it,
it didn’t seem slow at all.
it actually looked pretty hype to me.

So you saw MvC3… being played in a Gamestop… inside an arcade… in Japan?

Did you read the title of the thread?

i think it’ll be up there eventually.
i think the japanese will give MvC3 a shot even if MvC2 wasn’t their thing 10 yrs ago.
