Most boring/hated stretches of generally good games

Rare built up in me this unrelenting hatred for having to look for things. It’s amazing I can still play adventure games at all.

Not being able to skip cut-scenes in Xenogears. I would like to replay the game without reading the Bible again.

imo.

Since I’m playing Majora’s Mask right now…I’m going to say collecting the fucking fairies in the temples. It’s a damn good thing that I made sure to reset the days before I went into this temple. I also know that it’s optional but I want whatever it is that Great Fairy ho is going to give me.

Yeah that is pretty tedious especially in the later temples like the Water Temple. Blarg.

The fade sequence in the mage tower–the one with the sloth demon in dragon age–quite possibliy the most boringest part ever.

Im already 4 playthroughs in lol. But yeah fuck the fade…

I’m replaying MM too…Just finished Stone Tower temple last night, and got the great fairy sword. Pretty much just have a couple masks left to get, including the god forsaken couples mask…If you wanna talk boring though, i nominate this Kafei/Anju side quest.

hahaha I love the Anju/Kafei side quest. For some reason way back when I found it touching and interest to be the 3rd party of. Best ones are still saving Lon Lon Ranch though.

I’m approaching 120 hours of playtime in FFTA2… 119.5 hours of which are from actual storyline ack.

I guess i should’ve been alittle more specific. I find the whole story of the two very touching, and quite emotional how it all comes together right as the moon’s coming down. My problem with it however is that it spans the entire 3 days, which means ALOT of waiting around for the people to show up to their appointed destinations at specific times. I especially hate it if I forget to play the inverted song of time and return the flow of time to normal. It just takes too long for a mask that serves virtually no purpose.

Saving Romani Ranch still gets my heart pumping to this day. The only part of the game that has me that anxious. I don’t even bother with Epona…Bunny hood, all day, everyday.

Hate the dumb fuck missle level in Bayonetta

Thank You, I thought I was the only one who hated that level. I had such a headache when dodging since it made the whole screen spin. Also add to that was the final boss. The final boss was awesome, but there was this one part where you in the Flying Rocks Storm and it doesn’t say “Jump Press A” at times when you want it to, and when the word “Jump” does appear you jump to the wrong flying rock.

What’s worst is that you have to beat the game with a really shitty weapon (Goddess Bracelet my ass), well you don’t have to get it in the beginning but that weapon still sucked since it was only strong if you hit enemies up close and it didn’t travel all the way.

-Onimusha 1: the part where the main character and that ninja girl get trapped and you have to see that long unskippable cutscene and do this puzzle at the end, if you fail the puzzle you have to start from the beginning seeing the same long cutscene again!

-Earthworm Jim 2: The final boss, or should I say the final Race against the Boss, such a stupid useless final boss. Hell, EJ 2 sucked in general, there was barely any shooting stages in that game.

-Ultimate Ghost n’ Goblins: You have to get a certain amount of Rings to get to the Final Boss, when you beat the Final Boss, you have to get the rest of the Golden Rings to get to the REAL Final Boss.

-Yo Noid for the NES: the part where you had to do this Pizza Eating challenge that involves no platforming at all, just doing math.

-Duke Nukem 3D: The bosses can kill you with one Missile!

-Kid Icarus: Getting turned into an Eggplant…do I need to explain the rest!

Hmmm…I actually haven’t done the Kafei/Anju side quest yet but now both you guys talking about it has me interested…I’ll dedicate the first part of my next play time to doing it.

EWJ2 was awesome, and so was the Final Boss for 2 reasons:

  1. Beethoven

  2. If you still had a Barn Blaster you got from ALLLLL the way back from the very first level (and didn’t use any continues throughout the game), you could use it to kill PsyCrow immediately and finish the race at your own leisure.
I think it’s an extremely cool way to reward players for not only thinking outside the box, but for getting through the game on one continue.

Well I gotta admit now that Zombiehiphop brings it up…it Is a long one with lots of just waiting around trying to occupy your time. I just play mini-games like bow and arrow cause I’m usually swimming in money by the time I get to it but it is a quest with a lot of down time. Don’t expect it to be very action packed or anything.

Hey Zombiehiphop what about protecting Romani’s cart from the “ghosts?” Shits hilarious and a lot of fun to. both Romani Ranch Missions are great. Your right to. Bunny Mask ALL DAY.

Oh god that is crazy. Now I want to go see how much time I spent into that game. I know it must have been a lot as I played that game EVERYDAY for a whole month.

The snowboard level in MegaMan 8

JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE

Halo 1’s horribly bad library act, you just follow a sidewinding path with flood infected trying to kill you for like 30 minutes…

This + the stupid clown man’s level with the danger blocks annoying you every 3-5 seconds.

atleast it had good music…
