Mortal Kombat @ Evo 2011

How so? Is it the first text you’ve ever read…?

Are you implying Tekken and its get-the-first-punch-juggle-in-and-you-win dial-a-combo gameplay isn’t laughably bad? That MvC’s infintes, banned characters and hyper-kinetic, dunno-what-the-fuck-just-happended-I-think-I’m-having-a-photosensitivity-induced-epileptic-attack messplay constitutues Evo worthy pedigree?! :wtf:

I actually enjoy watching Tekken. MLG adopted Tekken 6 into its lineup, and I watched every single match they put up on the website. I found it very entertaining. I’d consider picking it up if I actually had people to play with and train against locally (I heard the game is broken/dead on PSN).

Go back to Gamefaqs and quit pretending like you know anything about fighting games.

Scrublicious is back!

I’d love to see Mortal Kombat at Evo. There have been worse games in the Evo lineup(Dead or Alive, Soulcalibur), and besides that, the game is hype as shit. If I were to show up, I’d even bring my shitty day one Sindel!

I actually enjoy this kind of response because it affirms the validity of the arguments I make.

I think that goes for most fighters on on crappy PSN, not just Tekken.

This is all I’m saying. If so many other turds can get Evo passes, why can’t MK, especially in light of its seemingly much-improved gameplay…? (*I know it’s only preliminary footage, but you’d have to be a blinkered, rusted on SF4 fantard not to see the game’s shaping up a lot better than any of its predecessors).

Opinions are what your making. I agree with the Tekken part, because i think its by far the most overrated fighter in known existence. BUT the bullshit your saying and MvC2 is flat out ignorant. Still, its all opinions.

and i also suggest you slow your self here, as well as every other site i’ve been seeing you post on. Thanks.

Where as XBLA runs “DEDICATED” servers with the money you shower them annually ? Oh how in the dark you are, fellow. Need we get into EVO’s console of choice for its fighters ? Nah, not worth it, seeing this is the MK forum.

Otherwise, I completely agree. MK9 even in it’s preliminary stages should more than be enought to be deemed “evo worthy”. Hell, UMK3 should ave been there annually eons ago as well, WTH?

yea we should, considering it is because of the stick/pad compatibility. THATS IT. Get real dude.

The only thing in the ‘dark’ is my TV screen with all the refreshing I need to do to find opponents on PSN (compared to Live)!

And, yes - Live is likely better because of its dedicated servers, financed by the subscription fees gamer pay and maybe partly due to M$'s presumably superior knowledge of the infrastructure also. But what’s your point?

I want decent on-line functionailty not tardy, un-erganomical set-ups. Free crap is still crap. And PSN has a ‘pro’ version now too. So spare me the the ‘Sorny give us on-line functionailty out of the goodness of their hearts’ lament.

because basing the quality of gameplay on pre-release demos is stupid. Especially considering their last game had 2 infinites discovered in less than 24 hours after release.

Games aren’t made official for Evo because they look good, they get passed in because they are good and because they know they’ll bring a lot of entrants. You can jab at Tekken and MvC2 all you want but the fact is they’re both solid games with lots of top tier players, otherwise they wouldn’t be there.

Infinites don’t make a game good or bad so i fail to see the relevance of bringing up two infinties found in 24 hours especially when you leave off that there are only 2 relevant infinites on the game. More than a couple tekkens have had relevant infinites in them and the vs series has plenty and it doesn’t make them poor games.

Tekken has been a solid and deep fighter since tekken 3. On the surface the gameplay doesn’t always look that deep but then again I’ve played tournament tekken against top tier players so I have more than a little insight into how high level play works.

Titties!

UMK3 and MK9 should both be at EVO, if they are, I will try to get off work and go. MK needs to be in the Mainstream Tourny Scene! Come on guys, lets make this happen!

Well, we already have some notable personalities like Yipes and JWong expressing interest in the new game. Still others, like Choi, have been old school UMK3 players that may stand to get back in the saddle.

That pretty much just leaves it on NR to make MK2011 a GOOD GAME. Everything will likely depend on if they can actually can knock down the pins, once they’ve been set up for them.

I wish I could go to EVO if UMk3 is there =(

Evo never add Mortal Kombat games it seems they don’t like or maybe mk is not popular then tekken, king of fighter and Street fighter it’s just my opinion

Its more so MK has sucked so badly for so long.

UMk3 is evo worthy and has been for a long time. But MK has a reputation, while warranted, not fair for such a godlike game like UMK3.

it matters when the infinite consists of a single fullscreen unblockable special, or starts from a fullscreen special with like 2 frames of start-up. do you actually think that’s okay?

This is the only fact I noticed in this thread.

Hello Kitty Fighter would be at Evo if 20 million people played it religiously world-wide.

What’s wrong with that?
