I dunno man, this game feels half-assed.
The game is half assed its pretty fucking horrid.
Ok, so I am an MK fan boy, but that does not mean that I wil go and be a lil b*tch about you people hating the game. And honestly, if you knew that this was going to be one of those hate threads, then you might as well renamed the thread, “The official I hat MK Armageddon thread.”
If you don’t like it, then well don’t buy it nor research about it. That’s just palin stupid flaming at a game that does not fit your taste.
And yes, Gamespot gave it a 7/10. Why? Coz the person who reviewed it is a Street Fighter junkie. That’s why you will notice on why others gave it a least of 8(4) out of 10(5).
And I know this isn’t a Mortal Kombat forum, but you don’t see any Mortal Kombat forum flaming at some game that Capcom creates. Proves that despite the game’s blood and gore, it’s fans are much better than Street Fighter or KOF fans. IMO
And NO, I ain’t being a lil bitch. I just can’t believe that gamers would just flame at a game like that.

The bottemline is the game is not being taken seriously by the MAJORITY of the FGC, We love UMK, we just dont like MKA is, so we flame. -_-.

I’m having fun with it. Looking to break it as soon as possible. It is a bit too cookie cutter though. Also, come on people… why aren’t combos linkable into specials for the most part?
The problem with the MK series today is Ed Boon’s refusal to change his philosophy from the 2D days. Since MK4 (the start of the 3D MK series), not much has changed. Over the years they’ve insisted on keeping old-school 2D elements like projectiles and chip damage, and introduced new weapon-based fighting styles combined with the hand-to-hand combat in an effort to combine all 3D fighting genres together. Obviously, it hasn’t worked out that well.
However, with no throw escapes, a half-assed wakeup system and a ridiculous dial-a-combo system, this game still manages to maintain it’s throne as the #1 fighting game in America today. Ed Boon really has no motivation to satisfy the “hardcore” crowd when it’s clear that the masses continue to eat this shit up like crazy. Things like Konquest mode, chess kombat, puzzle kombat, motor kombat etc. are created to enrich the single player experience because arcades are dead in America and Ed Boon knows it. Period. It’s all about mass appeal, so I can’t really blame him for trying to meet the bottom line. MK was never really known for depth anyway.
There will be major changes after this game, so that’s at least something new to look forward to.

I’m having a blast with KAF. I made Guile, Sagat, The Undertaker, Peter Steele, Lara Croft, a crude Leonardo from TMNT, and a pending Blanka, depending on whether or not Oni preset becomes available through some purchasing sequence. I tried to get the SF characters move sets to resemble as close to their originals as possible. KAF is extremely limit and I don’t really understand why, not like they balanced or tried at all with the rest of the game or anything. =(
KAF is pretty dope. I made some old kung fu guy named Ching Xin and he uses tiger style, lol. I’ll post some pics of him later
I liked mk2 and 3 then it got dumb. For some reason I’m going to get armageddon. No I’m gonna rent that shit. I wanna see whats the difference between Goro, Sheeva,and Kintaro. If hes half dragon, why is he tiger striped? Oh well he looks cool. And how are they gonna explain the comeback of EVRYBODY??
