That Solar guy really irritated me before I left a bit to play 4.
I play on 2DF and there are sooo many jerks. I have a few people I enjoy playing with but most people either rage pretty quickly or beat me and try to rub it in. I’m not that great… so when someone is beating me and they start shit talking it’s not fun anymore.
When someone is really good I’ll ask what I’m doing wrong or if they can give me advice because I want to get better, but even then a lot of times they’ll just call me a noob or whatever lame insult.
This game just brings the worst out in people I guess. I get adrenaline pumping and get heated more in this game than any other but I don’t get mad at the players…
I pretty much only ever play with AC-Slayer, Patmonsta, and sometimes Kenuran…other than that I usually end up in games with total scrubs or people who are general dicks. Eventually you will meet a cool player and hopefully play more games in the future with them. I am always willing to help out any newbies on GGPO, and I frequently try to do just that. I go as BitKid on GGPO so hit me up if you see me.
Ac-slayer is really chill. Helped me quite a bit with my Dudley vs Yun matchup.
beast123 and 4y3paragon (to an extent) are the biggest assholes that I’ve seen thus far. Besides those two, most people seem to be generally friendly and willing to help out when asked. If people just start to act up, ignore them, say ggs and leave.

'ALSO…I didn’t think it was a good enough question for its own thread, and it ties into this thread pretty well already, so, I was wondering what everybody thought about playing dicks who are better than you…do you just find OTHER superior players to help you up your game, provided that they AREN’T dicks?
'Sometimes it’s just a matter of finding someone who’s good w/ a certain character you seldom get to fight, but you REALLY want to play that match-up! My question was mostly targeting in-person play, but it’s the same w/ online matches. I’ve played some players that HATE me for not being much of a match for them, while other players (superior players that are often on good terms w/ the dicks) are impressed by me…go fig! It’s just an attitude difference and not so much a skill dif that makes them treat me differently, I guess. I mean, I don’t really care if someone’s a dick to me if they think it’s an INSULT for me to play against them and they just want me to leave them alone (I’m NOT interested in confrontations, you see!), and especially if I can find NICE, superior players instead, but that option isn’t always there…
I am ALL for helping ppl improve! You can learn something new at ANY given time (every little bit can help/be used to your advantage). I DO feel awkward sometimes when the skill difference (and most likely also the experience difference) between myself and other players is huge, but I try to be encouraging and POSITIVE about it! A GAME is supposed to be fun and challenging…that’s all I could WANT out of it

I’m NICE to ppl to the extent that some of my friends say I’m too nice (ppl take advantage of it). I always try to encourage ppl and share my perspective on games cos help can randomly come to you!
I just wanted to give a huge thnx to epsilon_ on ggpo, he ‘sat down’ with me for like two hours and walked me through a whole boatload of crap with Ken. I’ve had my share of bad experiences on ggpo with jerky people, but im glad to say he was one of if not the most helpful people I’ve encountered. Again epsilon_, if your looking for some ggs and a great learning experience hit him up.

I’m new to third strike and ggpo in general and haven’t experienced that yet but the inflated ego’s here and there. Even when a guy is wrecking me he still say “ggs”
You’ll find that most people are nice, and are willing to help you if you ask. There are some loud people who talk shit, but it’s usually in a joking manner and never ingame.
The only time I’ve ever had problems is when I play people from trinidad or mexico, because a lot of them seem to see that you are from the US, and decide to act like complete morons. I’ve had several of them slam on their select button the whole match. Not saying this goes for all foreigners, because there are some badass ones who are nice.
