Hey chet, if there’s an SF3 + Smash tourney, does that mean we can or can’t enter both? How would scheduling work, 1 game at a time or multiple games at once? Because you know how Smash tournaments are infamous for taking the whole fricken’ day to complete, considering people will want to do Singles, Doubles, and Crews, and maybe a Regional crew of some sort or a Low Tier tourney. But if it’s a 2 day thing…
And if it’s going to be multiple games in 1 tourney, why not ask Damax for his special location? The biggest downside is that we’re not downtown, the biggest upside is it’s not too expensive and we get a lot of TV’s…
Oh yeah, and it would all have to be console based if that happened, no cabs. But I don’t know how tournies for these games work, do you guys use all cabs or consoles, and do we bring our own TV’s and consoles?
It’s going to be an all-console tournament so people will be bringing TVs, consoles & joysticks and it’s going to be multiple games in one tournament so if you know a cheap and suitable place for MAT by all means make it known to the organisers
we’re not looking for something in downtown as none if us live in downtown anyway
and yeah if the ssmb people are willing to do 50/50 we should make MAT a 2day tournament
What will the consoles be? All PS2’s, dreamcasts, xbox’s, mixture, or what? And does it have to be a certain version of a game (A.K.A Anniversary or some japanese version)?

And I completely agree with you everyone who wants to have a spot on the team shold have to earn it
That’s why i suggested that we do a pre-MAT tournament but no one gave it any attention
It would be foolish not to have a pre-mat tournament its the only way we can assess/hone the players skills
There will be a qualifier for the last spot. The team if Arcadekid comes is gonna be Veas/Sam/Me/Alex/Qualifier.

Si vous etes un joueur bon et consistant vous ne devriez pas avoir peur de ne pas pouvoir vous qualifier

I don’t really see how you can argue Smokey’s decision for some of the team. Aside from Sam (which is obvious) Smokey placed top 5 at MAT last year and was the highest ranked Montreal player at T7. Alex placed 2nd in the last two MAT’s in Marvel. I can’t really make a point for Veasna aside from he seems regarded as one of Montreal’s best by many but I don’t see how you can dispute the other choices.
