If your new to the game here is a bit of small information
When selecting a character you get three grooves

Monster- Pure power basically.
Freedom- Is like custom combos.
Tranquality- Has autoguard properties

point system will follow as such.

First place gets 10 points
second place gets 7 points
3rd place gets 5 points
forth place gets 4 points
5th place gets 3 points
everything afterward gets 1 point. I will add this to the offical ranbat thread

i mirror this sentiment. even though it is a bit random that i won’t be able to enter this one ( stupid timing of random anime cons ) i would hope you guys plan on consistently running these so i can join up at a later date ( to get my F-Siely killed by everyone :sad: )

sadly I will never be able to make it if it was on sunday, cause I work till 7:00 west coast which is like 10:00 your time… lameee.

I’ve never played this before but once I get it working I am down.

Is the lag better than that on Kaillera? Kai lag drives me nuts… all I can play well on that is ST, and even then it’s really hard to do ticks.

Depending on distance, you can play this just as well as when playing on the same computer. I get frequent 55-60 FPS and no input lag when playing other East Coast players. So the netplay is pretty damn good.

All you need is the latest patch. (ver D) and then just go to network. o_o

If you want to host, then make sure wait is enabled.

If you need any more help, then just go to the IRC room.

Well, just to clarify in case anyone is behind a router:

  • http://www.portforward.com/ to learn how to forward ports.
  • Go to start->run->cmd and type ipconfig to find out the internal IP address for the PC you’re on.
  • Then forward port 2300 to that IP

TCP port 2300 allows you to host games. You should still technically be able to join games with that port closed (I was).

Once that’s done, go to the Network screen (N in Monster) and select the second option (Wait), then set it to Enable. That allows people to join your game. While you’re waiting you can also try joining other games by selecting games from the list that are listed as “Open”. Obviously you don’t want to bother trying to join games listed as “Busy”.

If you’re not behind a router and still having connectivity issues, it’s possible you’re behind a firewall. Windows SP2 comes equipped with a nasty little firewall (that you can disable). If you are behind a firewall you need to enable Monster to run through it.

If you’re running Windows SP2’s firewall then you can enable Monster to run through the Windows firewall pretty easily in the properties (by right clicking Monster.exe and going to properties). Here’s a full list of steps: http://www.theeldergeek.com/windows_firewall.htm

If you’re not behind a router, not running a firewall, have the latest version installed, have a decent connection (high speed internet), and STILL not able to connect or have people join you; then I have no freaking idea.

Hey Xenozip, I’ve been reading the blog, really good stuff. I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind maybe releasing the replays from the Japanese tournament or if you knew where I could find them? I’m mostly interested because of their tiering of Siely and I really want to study their Sielys to see why they’ve placed her at mid because I feel she has a lot more potential than people give her credit for. I really enjoy F-Siely, as hard as she has to work for her wins…
