Let’s be serious, this is a thread devoted to the revival of Monster version 1.01. I’ll update this main thread with what’s necessary. My handle is Siky because Xiii was some random screen name I picked back in 2001 and I don’t feel like getting a new account.

Want to join the community and learn how to play or not sure how to get started? Click that link up there, if you don’t know how to use IRC, follow these steps:

1 Go here and download mIRC.
2 Once you have it installed boot it up, put gibberish for Full Name:, Email Address:.
3 Think up a unique name for your Nickname: and then think up an even more unique name for your Alternative: just incase you weren’t as clever as you thought.
4 Hit OK at the bottom of that window and come back here.
5 Click on #8105monster and mIRC should pop up, ignore what it says and just click OK. Should send you directly into our channel. Look at the little box at the bottom of the program and type Hi and hit enter.
6 Follow that up with some English, we come with no guarantees we speak anything other than English and can’t help you if you can’t.

Checklist for non-technically-inept

  • Forward Port 2300 TCP/UDP
  • Setup controls for both players to the same thing in Config.
  • Go to Network settings in the game and put in your Name and then your location in the Comment section, EC or WC is enough, more is welcomed.

This is totally the version of t he game where freedom delga was a monster.

Im not from the US so the lag will be pure hell… but good luck.

Im still liking Monster a lot, i know that the game got a lot of issues but is pure fun.

Is the white thing supposed to be a bunny or a kitty?

Hell if we know. Simply put:

Katze = Cat
Othello = Wolf
Delga = Dragon <- Happy?
Aleksandr = Dog
Siely = Succubus

Now it gets tricky…

Maya = Girl in a dress that’d own your face.
Orju = Teenage Mutant Ninja Master Splinter? (aka Rat dude?)
Rail = I don’t really know, prairie dog? All I know is Delga thinks he’s cute and that’s pretty disturbing by itself.
Ryougen = He has stripes, a mane and a really long stick. We call him God.

To sum it up, no bunny or kitty. There’s a cat, but kitties are cute, Katze… well I’m not a furfag, so don’t ask me.

Delga is actually a beast in every version…just less so in the latest.

Also, I think that Maya was still good in 1.01.

yeah I know but wasn’t this the one before they took away all the command grab invincibilty or something?

And yes everyone is viable in monster I realize…

EDIT: Actually, this is the first Delga nerf patch. I just tested it out. If I recall correctly, he lost a little range on his grab and a tiny bit of invincibility (but he still has too much). Also, he did lose the super otg in this patch.

I’m just pet-peeved at stuff. Hell, I’m also annoyed people calling Yatterman 1 as Yatterman and whatnot, but it’s just me and my OCD.

Man sometimes when Im playing this game I miss 1.11b, even if its got its own problems.

Also how do I beat Orju with Delga!!! ugh such a tough match. Delga just can’t get close!
