hey there taiki (who loves tits and has ryo as your avatar (self-portrait, apparently)): you shut the fuck up. it’s obvious this is all illegal in terms of gambling. we all know this. it obviously isn’t smart to advertise is and if that was your issue, you should have outwardly said that instead of giving us your song and dance about how we’re all wrong. use your brain and stop trying enlighten us with knowledge that’s already known. we understand the consequences but as leviathan said, mm’s have been a huge part of our community and seems to be the only thing (besides tournaments) that proves a players worth. that may be a selfish reason compared to the potential consequence of evo being shut down, but let’s be realistic here. has evo been shut down on those guidelines yet? no.
by the way, what do you do for the gaming community? what do you contribute? do you even play any games? do you show up to get togethers? i may be relatively new to the competitive scene, but i don’t go shooting my mouth and being the pretentious asshole trying to correct everyone in hopes of finding someone who cares. and plus if you do show up, all you do is take up room, stinky 2k8. i hate to make it sound like a flame, but i’ve noticed you post for a while in the vegas thread and now this shit… this isn’t the first time you’ve acted high and mighty in spite of the rest of the community (vegas - whatever community we have, namely). just go somewhere and have a nice day.

I thought I was doing you a favor by giving you a fucking heads up that what you’re doing could pretty much kill Evo. I don’t care about what could get just you or just you and whoever the hell else is involved in trouble. I don’t give a shit. In fact, I didn’t even care about MMs until I found out that the venue DUR does care about rampant gambling at the event and that the Evo staff has been under enough pressure to codify this activity as being something Not To Do. Yes, there’s alot of things on those rules people just won’t follow. But being drunk/stoned while at the event is pretty much only going to get YOU in trouble with GVR or the law, MMs will get everyone else in trouble. The only thing keeping me from playing and going to Evo this year is that, hur hur, I have a professional life and I’ve got obligations elsewhere that exact weekend. What have you done? Risked one of the largest american tournaments over a 20 dollar bet?
Maybe Vegas was the worst thing to happen to Evo, but if Evo’s only fun because of MM’s, I’m not sure it’s worth going to in the first place.

what’s your suggestion? should we do away with money matches all together? noone is inviting the GVR, DUR, or any other regulatory organization you want to fabricate, to regulate mm’s. EVO is a tournament and not a sanctuary for side betting and gambling. i am well aware of that. i just don’t understand why you’re so overdramatic about this. you should be aware that not everyone will abide by what EVO is meant for. i am very well aware that if anyone is caught doing this to a grand enough scale, EVO is done for. mr. wizard and the rest of the crew have to deal with it, blah blah. i’m not blind or retarded. i can comprehend what you said already. stop repeating yourself.
