Modok online

Hah, you can’t really say that. I’m the MODOK player who always gets opened up by MODOK overheads : /
Yeah, I wanted to see what answers you had to Nova really. I can actually handle his Zero pretty well but get opened up
by NOVA all day. He’s trained against MODOK ISO’s really from playing me so much but I’m too lazy to put as much stuff
on the screen as you. Something I think I’ll start doing

It gave me some time to analyze a few of your setups so thanks!

I didn’t handle it nearly as well as I could have. Zero definitely was his “weak point” and the character you want to force to be anchor. Wesker is a problem as anchor and as an assist for combo extension/unblockables, same with Nova. Nova was the main problem, but there was still a ton of unsafe stuff that was punishable that I was too lazy to block :frowning: I guess that comes with playing only online and being used to input delay screwing things up too often. When I advanced guarded a j.h and he did his overhead on the ground, which happened to be in range, but I just stopped blocking after the advancing guard, so I just got hit, when all it took was a simple block to punish it for a dead Nova. That happened at least three times lol… way too lazy. Also, for his incoming setups with Nova, I noticed that he either went for an airdash j.h into foward h for a grab/overhead (which was blown up by dok’s own normal grab) or he stood still and went low with cr.m.

And no problem! The only setups I really have though are my incoming setups… which I can never do correctly online. cr.m and drones into m cube definitely gives dok one of the best mixup possibilities against incoming enemies, since you have a lot of time to adjust to how the incoming character reacts. Chun’s allows for similar results. Mag’s hyper grav works really well, but timing it just right makes it difficult to use online.

It’s all good man, he’s actually one of the better players at my tournaments, you handled yourself pretty well. I’d give you a good chance bro. Next one may be May 12th I think. You should come out if you can.

I don’t get back until May 15th unfortunately :frowning:

I was trying to play online for the first time in months to get some more varied practice for Doom… Man, do I never want to play online in this game again. Just doing dok’s normal confirms seem to go out the window… not sure how I ever took the time to get to third lord a few months back. Definitely going to stick to practicing with my local scene from now on.

Online really is a different experience most of the time lol. I usually just stick to being a training mode monster when I can’t get anybody to face me offline. I try to find a few good players with good connections that I can run sets with every now and then.

I’m lucky in that I do have a real good local scene to play with, but I can only really get out once a week usually to get some good sets in. I feel like quantity of matches can really help figure out overall strengths and weaknesses to strategies. Throw out a wide net on match up experience, etc.

Online really helped me figure out how to play Dudley in SF4, and given his massive flaws, that took a lot of losing and honing to grind out. Sad it is so fickle for Marvel.

Oi, Oi! It’s about that time again! What time is it?

TIME FOR THE BRODOK BATTLE ROYAL THAT’S WHAT!

I think it’s about time for us BRODOKS to duke it out in the name of science just to get an idea of each others playstyles
and setups. Yeah, I know online sucks, but you can still get an idea of how to approach the games at hand. Who’s down?
I know me and LTP are EC. If you’re on the east coast than great but frankly I don’t care where you’re from as long as we don’t
lag to all hell.

Lets DO THIS!

SCIENCE!
Online sucks. <span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”>But I can play/record matches and upload them. It wouldn’t be too good for analyzing neutral though.

man that would be fun, but internet connection on guam is horrid.

I know I’m not a regular here but I’d definitely be interested in seeing how I’d stack up to other MODOKs, maybe learn some new things. What time were you thinking, and would it be on XBL? I’m in Canada btw so hopefully the lag wouldn’t be too completely terrible.

Definitely XBL. I just moved so I won’t be on for maybe a week.

I’m set back up for XBL. If anyone wants to get some DOK matches in hit me.

Actually scratch that, unless you live in NyC lol Online is horrrrrible

Any M.O.D.O.K. players on the Vita? :stuck_out_tongue:
