Here’s the lowdown, peeps:
The event is TODAY, Saturday, 08/21/2010 at 7:00PM EST
The event is gonna be 2 series, 4 races per series, which makes a total of 8 races. The first series will be all UFG tracks, and the second series will be all user-created tracks.
Depending on your placing at the end of a race, you’ll get points. Whoever has the highest total points at the end of the two series will be the event winner. These are the points you will get based on your placing.
1st place winner of the series gets a mod and kart personally created for them by me, 2nd place gets just a kart, and 3rd place gets just a mod.
If you have an SRK Kart in your kart library, it would be cool if you could drive it (at least for one race), to rep SRK. It is an SRK event after all.
If you have a mic, it’s recommended that you put it on and chat it up. I lost my mic after coming back from Evo, so I’ve gotta find it or buy a new one.

new DLC and DOUBLE XP WEEK! Heh, I figured they’d do something like that, which is why it was silly for folks to complain earlier about the 250,000 xp trophy. Gears of War 2 (and most likely other “online” games) had several events where there was some bonus exp amount to be had if you just played online during a particular time. Anyway, I’ll most likely get this new DLC thing just to have that soapbox and other stuff… I’m pretty sure I already have those wheels and the nail though. Still, I haven’t been on lately since I got hooked on Monday Night Combat (despite it always resulting in me yelling and throwing things…being on a hopelessly losing team is incredibly frustrating to say the least.)
oh that’s cool…I didn’t even notice the name there, but I was checking out the kart. That’s gotta be “great publicity” which will translate to more downloads for ya, of course.
I also had to create a “black shit” character for the sake of completion…I’m currently undecided on which hat or helmet he will wear, if any. There’s a hint of red on his face for the blood, which works great as a “face” of sorts, imo.

-MAD Cat, Chief Quimby, the MAD-mobile…I REALLY want to make a M.A.D. Mobile! The strange thing is that there aren’t that many pictures of it online for some reason…the ones I’ve seen are small and low quality. I actually have the Inspector Gadget dvd though, so I may take snapshots from that as reference.

DOUBLE XP WEEK is in full effect, folks! Race and get that delicious XP while it’s hot!!! Of course you could get the most out of XP series, but it’s tough since I’ve only seen high-level people in those so far. I’ve still yet to win an XP series. There was one guy in the last Series I did that was consistently a LONG way ahead of everyone, like he had a godlike magic +10 Top Speed kart with perfect handling and everything. NOBODY was catching that guy. I can’t remember what his actual kart settings were though.

(even if using a sticker to make a jewel on his head, it would still be below the hat and not on front, obviously…or I could make the whole turban and jewel with a sticker directly on the character’s head, but then that would probably not look right either.)
I’ll have to re-make Freeza, because that face just isn’t entirely “correct”, imo…plus the eyes were closed when I saved the character. (*the pose is apparently whatever the character happened to be doing when you hit “save”.)

It’s hard to take competition that seriously in this game, since the weapons…particularly level threes…are completely “wonky” and questionable at this point. Will that pack of hydra missiles hit before an alarm sounds off, at the same time as the alarm, or much later on? Who even knows anymore? Will the lightning strike before, during or 82 years after the skies darken and the alarm sounds? Not even God knows that one either. It’s a complete crapshoot now on when you need to put up the shield. It seems like now, the game has a psychic link to you, and it knows if you’re going to shield right away, so Level 3 Lightning holds off until the shield is completely gone…THEN it hits you. Or, it does the psychic magic trick again and sees that you’re going to wait under the assumption that it will be a late hit…so in that case, it hits you immediately. Yeah. I still love it when I have the level 3 Lightning though, since we know it’s going to be a nearly guaranteed hit on several people due to the randomness of the strike.
This also recently brought me to the conclusion that +2 top speed or even +1 top speed probably isn’t a wise setting for your kart as a result. More people are likely to shoot level 3 weapons immediately once they pick them up now, due to the general glitchy-randomness… so it has become seemingly more important to have either neutral on that accel/top speed stat, or have +1 acceleration, since you WILL be getting hit more often. Oddly enough, none of this really pisses me off (unlike other games where I see all kinds of bullshit), because I know there is absolutely no way around it, and everybody (except the person shooting the weapon of course) is constantly fucked over by it… so the game is becoming a bit more about luck than skill.
…along with Nathan Drake and his kart, which is another pointless one nobody cares about(*like this game now?) since there’s no re-usable parts on those kinds of “special character DLCs”.
*ah, scratch that… I was just checking the forum and the post right after that link was by a guy stating the golf kart is NOT up yet…apparently the blog post was too early or whatever.
*I’d bet money that if I hated this game, it would’ve been ridiculously popular with SRK folks. It appears my jinx factor has struck once again.
Anyway, I haven’t even played in awhile because there’s so many other games catching my attention lately. I still have games that I bought but haven’t even started yet…there’s simply too much good stuff out there.
Sup kids!? So I’m 1 trophy away from getting the platinum! I need the “ModNation? Superstar” trophy (Achieve level rank 30). That’s gonna take forever! I’m on level 29 with 270,000+ xp. To reach rank 30, you need 500,000xp. :wasted:
If anyone needs help getting the “Getting To Know You?” trophy (Invite 5 unique friends to an online race) just challenge 5 people in the ModSpot.
ah, I thought it had to be 5 friends… I didn’t know random people counted for that. Heh, and speaking of xp, I still just have a grand total of 30,000 something points. Today was the first time I’ve even turned on my system…well, since that last post from 9/23, I guess. I mainly got on after hearing that the Air Raid content is up for purchase…I should’ve acquired that back when it was free, but whatever; I can part with 1.75 to finally get my own plane to customize (*previously, you could not customize a plane without having Air Raid DLC if you downloaded it from someone else, even if they left it remix-able.)
My character Barf Bag will definitely get a plane to really push the “air sickness bag” gimmick going on there…haha, a living bag of puke, flying a plane. Yeah, this game is awesome. I have over 100 created characters, and there are still ideas I have yet to start on.

It’s truly a shame that SRK doesn’t seem to care about MNR. I downloaded so many sick tracks for us to race on for the weekly races, but no one got online except for the 1st one we had. Now I just play by myself on the tracks I downloaded and dream of races that could have been with Team SRK.
Downloaded a ton of sick tracks. I need to start creating tracks of my own so that I can work towards that Plat. I gave up on the jet moto tracks because I got lazy and didn’t want to fully learn the track editor.
