Anytime you order something like that from overseas you’re going to have to deal with customs. To save me time I just paid coinopexpress to do all of the annoying work for me and have it shipped to my door. They supplied a broker, freight forwarder, everything, but I had to ASK. Otherwise they assume you know what you’re doing, since you ARE importing a cabinet from China.
Read through the thread I made on Otaku, it may help you through the process.
I bought a Vewlix clone from them and I plan to post pics and a review on this site and ArcadeOtaku soon. They crate their cabinets really well though, so you shouldn’t have to worry about them getting messed up. I do have pics of the crate in that thread I linked.
Modern day LCD arcade Cabs are pretty dope! i really dont see any cons about having one…
well… maybe the price… but if you look around, you can find some for around $800-$1200 sometimes…
Yep. Most def Chinese bootleg versions of Noir and Vewlix cabs. I have a legit Tekken 6 Noir arcade cab and its night/day difference between the real cabs and the clone cabs… even the plastic on the cabs are different…
The Vewlix F’s monitor is perfect. That does not imply that anything less is laggy. Since VGA is used on the monitor, it does not lag. Also, the image quality through VGA on this monitor is very good. You can leave the XBOX 360 Reference Level setting on “Standard” and it still looks the way it should be (good brightness/contrast, no washed out colors).
::Shrugs:: I own one too. People have just reported it does lag. I have not personally done the testing to prove or disprove anything, just going by what most say. I personally can not tell the difference between many LCDs, the Vewlix included. Does that mean that it doesn’t lag? Not necessarily. If you tested, great! Prove everyone wrong, I am just using the information put forth by others. From now on it will be: “People will argue input lag into the ground, if you want the best, get the F, otherwise just enjoy the game and don’t run a tournament on the damn thing.”
I’m curious if they used a HDFury on the DVI. I used to play SFIV on my laggy TV using HDMI, which had unbearable input delay. But I don’t experience any input delay on my Vewlix L’s screen using VGA. I did SSFIV trials on that screen and didn’t experience lag. Maybe it lags in theory, but by far not as much as a direct connection to HDMI. VGA as an analog connection should not be that laggy. But who knows, maybe it’s a DVI/HDMI-conversion issue because the Vewlix L has no HDCP.
