i dont know if this is relevant or not to you guys but I understand there were issues in figuring out how to add objects? Viper has a hat in this…

@Anotak
yeah, I saw that one. Too bad we can’t find a download link. It would be nice to see what they’ve done…
I’m guessing that they didn’t actually add any objects, but rather just modified Viper’s pompadour to look like a hat. It looks incredible regardless.
sorry if this was already asked but…are there any zipped files with the files already edited so we only have to copy and paste the files in the folders?
Its way to complicated to edit every file for every characters’ cloth.
Piecemontee: Mediafire claims that there are no files to display. Have you taken the asset explorer down, temporarily?
By the way, great job with all your research so far! It has made SF4 100x more exciting.
@Marcus_from_GCC
I’m not sure I know what you mean.
@BeautifulViolence
It’s still available here, if nowhere else:
I’m not sure if it’s the latest version or not, but it’s what I use.
Thanks, huterk; I must’ve clicked on an outdated link.
seems like advancements have stopped on the modding front, but the skinning and obj editing is still going strong. piecemontee is still doing some research on xentax so props to him for still going strong, everyone else though it seems lost interest.
material value editing i can see was beginning to be discussed by snoopee and lounger, but nothing really came out of it to make it easier to edit. I sent a PM to lounger about it, but i think he’s gone. If anyone knows an answer to my question maybe they could help me out with material editing.
also, if someone knows chinese maybe they can read this and find out the easier way to obj edit (using 3DS rather than misfit model 3d) Its like a little tutorial by terryzxc on 3dmgame.cn. he does some pretty awesome work, if only i could read it (the google translation makes no sense to me)

these are the original threads they come from if you want to have a go at the translation yourself.

also, this thread by sssssss is equally as impressive, but i can find no dl links to any of the various works in his thread.

hopefully this thread doesnt die for good
Personally I was really hoping someone would figure out a way to apply the properties of Rufus’ stomach to parts of other characters before this thread died. ahem
Holy crap a lot of the stuff in that sssssssssss thread is amazing.
I can’t read Chinese but I want those emoticons…

not sure if this is material editing or not, i dont think ive seen anyone do any kind of mod so far that copies attributes other than appearance related. the physical behaviour of an object i wouldnt know where those values are stored.

ya this one was freakin awesome huh, one of the better mods ive seen, would love to have it.
How hard would it be to make low poly models for really shitty computers?
hard
@USMCMarine
You may have already seen this, but it looks like they just took Acethylen’s Camo mod (http://acethylen.deviantart.com/art/SF4-Skin-Ken-Camo-S-Suit-135804462) and then did some model edits to shrink his legs/chest and enlarge his fuzzy collar.
ya i realize that now, looked almost completely different though via the awesome obj file edit. im talking to a guy from 3dm who knows english and chinese and trying to get him to translate these tuts and more in return for me giving him some of my unreleased WIP mods.
anyone have an account on 3dmgame? i have one but not enough priveledges to search through a user’s post history (specifically terryzxc, who made a lot of tutorials that i cant seem to find anymore)
cant bring myself to do any more modding knowing im limited to misfit model, when there is a way to do it in 3ds with textures applied to the model simultaneously (no more guess and check)
It seems the chinese modders have figured out how to get bones/animation data to be readable by 3DSMAX by judging from those pictures. You can see the characters in their idle animations.
USMC: I read Chinese. Here’s what it says:
“First, extract the textures with HyperRipper, then [KITTY SMILEY FACE].
Open the .dds in Photoshop and [KITTY SHOCKED FACE].
From there, it’s just a matter of [KITTY EMBARRASSED FACE] the *.col file and editing offset 000555EO with [KITTY DOING DISHES].”
Sorry.
Seriously, those Chinese guys are really getting deep.
By the way, I don’t think this thread will die; I check it every day. I’m not haxor, but I totally support what you guys are doing and appreciate the hard work and research that has gone into modding SF4 PC. Please, keep it up!
Holly shit, I thought the topic was dead, I’m happy to see it come alive again :woot:

Hyper ripper captures the whose scene at once so it does not indicates they found it.
However it does not indicate the did not.
Don’t get me wrong, their work on material edition looks pretty advanced, I’d be glad to understand those topics!!!

I am also pretty interested in those hexheditor screenshots traduction, assets explorer is pretty weak in the material edition department
so when can we get this one 360?
