Modding SF4 for PC (No DLC Unlocks!)

Wait where is this located? could you provide some addresses with which file or just a screenshot? if there’s no damage values it could be something like the starting hit of a throw?

Agree! I want a tutorial so much too! The first thing that I tried to do when I got the game, was modify the BGMs lol
If someone maybe post a tutorial, we will be very thankful!

Its really easy. I’ll explain it, already have a bunch of custom bgms in mine (stuff from like marvel vs capcom or marvel vs street fighter)

In any case here goes.

  1. You need a song in .wav format. If you have .mp3, use a program like audacity to convert it to .wav

  2. You need to split the song into 6 files. The first file is the intro to the song (10-20 seconds), the second file is the main song (the rest of the track). The third file is an intense beat version 1 (I take part of the main song and change the tempo or pitch using audacity). The fourth file is just a loop of intense beat version 1 (I just make a copy of the third file). The fifth file is intense beat version 2 (again same principle just change the tempo or speed etc). The sixth file is again a loop of intense beat version 2. Remember these need to be in .wav format.

  3. Drag each file separately into the adxencoder. You should get the same file back in adx format. Repeat for each .wav file.

  4. Copy a .csb stage from the stage folder in street fighter iv. This will be the template for a new .csb file which you will replace.

  5. Open CSB packer application. Open the .csb stage. Now you will be able to select the .adx files. Go in order of: intro file first, main loop second, intense beat v1 third, intense beat v1 loop fourth, intense beat v2 fifth, intense beat v2 loop sixth.

  6. Click on create .csb It will create a new file based on the old one.

  7. Copy this new stage into the appropriate stage folder, just remove the .new that is appended.

  8. Play game

I’m going to go create one for akuma’s stage using the ocremix version of marvel vs street fighter.

With exception of the volcano stage and rival music, pretty much all the bgm in SFIV is disappointing.

Cool cammy skin… this reminds me of the black costume also available there but it wasn’t working coz of its dependency on texmod. I think texmod doesn’t work with SF4 and I’m not sure if tpf files are convertible.

The main mod i’d like someone to put together is to SOMEHOW implement a graphical option to make backgrounds show up on low. My computer is incapable of running the game at a constant 60 fps with backgrounds turned on (setting it to high) but if capcom had just fucking implemented a low quality/res etc. version of the backgrounds id at least be able to fucking see them
getting pretty boring playing in a wireframe all day lol

No, that’s in the ‘functions to be released’ section, they say it’s 70% done so will probably be in the 1.3 release I guess.

The block is highlighted in red. I also circled some key points. So far I know the first three blocks are standing, crouching, air hit. The next three have no damage, so maybe they’re for guarding/tick data. Then there is the counterhit data, which I haven’t gone into detail yet but I’m assuming it’s the same as the first three blocks but for counter-hit. Then another three blocks of the same type, no idea what those are. After that you can see there’s something else entirely different.

So the 64-byte data block repeats 12 times, then some other data type also repeats 12 times. This is all for one move.

Probably by bypassing the launcher. That’s the only reason you can’t use texmod on it.
