I just read I can fit Happ/IL buttons in the case if I modify the middle plastic piece on the inside of the case so I may do that instead of using Seimitsu buttons.
What you’re reading is just purely depth-wise; the holes on the TE are 30mm (1-3/16") for the Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons, whereas Happ/Il buttons are 1-1/8" in diameter.
You’re going to need a new top-panel if you plan to use Happs/Ils.
You should ditch the jlf and go ls56 to match those seimitsu buttons. Have you tried one before? Try to find a local person that will let you try it.
I’ll just throw out if ur in Houston I’d be more than glad . Doubt you are though
Perhaps I would consider it if had a perfect circle gate option, I think only octagonal is available. Looks like a good stick, short throw and tight spring.
Honestly. Dump the TE and get a custom. The only real way to make a JLF feel like a p360 is to replace it with a P360, something which doesn’t fit in a TE.
The reason I want it to feel like a P360 is because I prefer harder springs and shorter throw. Will those mods on my list help with that? How nice is the circle gate mod and is getting an custom actuator with it overkill? Thanks for the input everyone.
Only thing that will feel like a P360 is a p360 and a modded JLF will still be and feel like a JLF.
Its not going to feel like a P360, its going to feel like a JLF with a Bat top, a 9 lb spring and a circle gate
a P360 has a much longer lever/shaft and a larger actuator area for a bigger throw.
If you want a feel of a American style part in a Japanese Joystick probability for the mount, don’t waste your time with a JLF, get the more Robust Sanwa JWL, get a bat top, stiffer spring and circle gate for that joystick.
Isn’t the P360 an optical joystick as well?
If you’re still going to go through with the JLF route, you’ll need a Flash or Spark/SparkCE to replace the regular microswitched PCB.
