MMU - Mega Man Unlimited (PC Fan Game)

Started playing this game. Rainbow Man should be renamed Dick man, cause his stage is full of dick moves.

I have not yet made it to a single boss. Either I’m rusty or this game was designed by masochists

All I can say so far is that this was well worth the wait. Hard as hell, but loving it. Outclasses SFxMM for sure, but I’m not going to go too hard on that, it’s an appreciated fan game as well.

CRIPES this game is hard. I haven’t gotten a game over yet but that’s because the enemies in Nail Man’s stage were feeling generous and gave me plenty of extra lives. Are the levels long like I’ve been hearing because I thought I got considerably far in Nail Man’s stage and my jaw dropped when I was set back at the beginning of the level after I died. The level design is VERY good stuff. I’m a bit bummed that Nail Man’s theme was changed from what it was back in 2009, but the new tune is pretty catchy.

Definitely Nintendo hard.

Rainbow Man’s stage is ridiculous.

This game is cheap as hell. I’ve yet to find an easy level to just get me something a Rush jet a slightly more powerful weapon, a shield, something AND every level has cheap, instant kill, BS that is extremely tricky to get by.

I feel like you have to grind for a bit and invest in E Tanks and other items to stand a chance.

Louis, you can get get a shield AND the Rush Jet by simply beating Nail Man’s stage. Oh, and Comet Woman’s weapon is essentiallly an air dash, so try getting it if you want to make some of the platforming sections in the game a little easier.

BTW, I’ve already beaten 6 of the 8 bosses - only Trinitro Man and Rainbow Man are left to go.

Glue Man’s stage made me super salty.

Watched a guy on twitch play through the game. Seems like the bosses are much easier than the stages themselves is what I noticed.

Here are the boss weaknesses, for those who are interested:

Spoiler

Nail > Tank > Comet > Jet > Yoyo > Glue > Rainbow > Trinitro > Nail

Thank you so much dude! The nail weapon makes Tank Man’s stage so much more easier. I’ll say this; I’m not a big Mega Man fan (I think a lot of the games are too similar to each other) but I have beaten 4, 6, 7, and X1. I really like this one. The Slide is a welcomed addition and makes boss fights feel more fair.

This game rocks. Capcom take fucking note!

How about they don’t and stop don’t do another 8-Bit game.

I’m loving MMU but fuck I really wanna see something new for Mega

I just want a Mega Man Zero game without fairies

Man, Rainbow Man’s stage is pissing me off. The difference between most fan games and official games is that fan games are designed to get you at every corner, and that’s what I hate most about them. Rainbow Man’s stage is the perfect example. You have very little time to survey your surroundings, and by the time you figure it out, you’re already dead. Not even Quick Man’s stage was this bad.

Game is definitely hard. But fun hard.
Gonna try to beat Glue man when I get home. Took me a while to make it to him.

Don’t get too frustrated with it, once you make it to the end (and know the layout) you’ll find it very easy. It actually isn’t that long of a stage compared to others. As far as I’ve played it is the most difficult of the boss stages.

Game’s challenge has been pretty good though, it isn’t very hard just more on the challenging end. Bosses are definitely easier than the stages as somebody else pointed out (and I do buster only runs on my first play through of MM games). Level design is just awesome throughout, love a lot of the stage gimmicks like Glue Man’s.

I think the one issue I have with the game is that you have to delay using slide a bit after landing otherwise you’ll jump again. Can’t remember off the top if it was like that with the other games but I’ve been able to adjust.

I think that a lot of people who idolize older games for their “difficulty” believe that those games are much harder than they actually were, because they fail to realize that when you first start gaming, you suck at games.

The dead giveaway is that lists of difficult NES games almost always include Mega Man (as in the first one), which is simply not a very difficult game (similar to how they always list the first NES Ninja Gaiden, which is the least difficult one in the franchise). Hell, I saw one list claim that Bionic Commando was one of the hardest NES games…

And when such lists do include legitimately hard games, more often than not they’re kusoge that no one cared about and most people hated at the time (Silver Surfer, Friday the 13th).

Thank god for that shortcut in Glue Man’s stage. Going the regular way is cheap as hell. Rainbow Man’s stage is easily the hardest one. It’s pure memorization ala IWBTG and it wouldn’t be that bad if you didn’t get sent all the way back to the beginning if you die once and some of those screens are very tricky even if you know what to do.
