Also, the game is really colorful, which will attract me to a game by default, lol. I’m easy to please.
Actually, the person that I had in mind at the time of posting that was DRD, as he posted it in the Premo thread.
But now that you bring it up, you even stated that you were more interested in this game than many other upcoming FGs, and that you were hyped about it. While you didn’t go out and join a road team and hand out fliers, you made a post on a public forum about it with that material, so… Yeah, I would say that that qualifies. 
Like I said, to each their own, but from what I’ve seen, I don’t know how anybody can legitimately think this looks good, as a fighting game. As fanservice, sure, I guess I can maybe see that. But in regards to the mechanics on show currently, the only thing we’ve seen is a wallbounce and combos that don’t combo properly.

I wasn’t directing my comment toward you specifically, more the people who are just screaming that it’s wrong to like MLP: FiM, it’s just a Meme, etc.
I can respect people who watched the new series and didn’t like it, it’s not for everyone, nothing is.
However, despite being a good show, it’s based on a girl’s toy line.
Deny it all you want, most people who are outspoken with blind hate for anything have a bigger reason than “I hate it” behind the hate, and in MLP’s case there are a lot of people on the internet who have issues with gender identity and masculinity.
That’s where the reasoning comes from.
It’s the same thing as many Teenagers “growing out” of cartoons and videogames, only to come back to them when they’re 20 and laugh at their teenage years.

The animation looks nice, but the mechanics don’t look like they work right, this is supposed to be a combo video and none of it combos.
I am hype, simply for the premise of an MLP fighting game, but so far it needs a ton of work done.
Let’s try to get back on track.
The people hatin’ are obviously in a minority, and they sound like raving madmen, for some reason very angry at the popularity of a cartoon show. I know it’s mysterious as to why it upsets them so, but that is not the topic at hand.

To answer someones question, I believe the team responds to questions in a thread at ponychan, the projects category.
And they seem pretty dedicated. If we assume they started with those mockup screens, then Applejack has been animated pretty quickly considering the quality.

I’m sure that combos like this will work in the game, I just hoped to see a combo system fully functional before uploading broken combo videos 
This looks like an early build, the problems will probably be ironed out by release.
And if not, then oh well.
I never even watched the new MLP (I used to watch the original ones with my sister when we were very little), but this actually looks pretty cool. Very nice animation.
Just needs to get rid of the Cvs2 hitsparks and get something more fitting (and original).
I can already see Pinkie Pie using ZA WARUDO and then breaking into a dance and song as it damages the opponent.
Is this real? I’m not kidding. I can’t tell. I’d be very interested to see if this game is real and becomes popular. They should put some other animals in it though like frogs if it is real.
For the record, I knew what you were saying, but the way you worded it didn’t make much sense to me. At least in my experience, one would normally say that they are uncomfortable with their sexuality, implying that there are “masculine” and “feminine” traits and they’re afraid of letting the “feminine” side be shown, because they’re afraid they might be seen as “gay”. It’s just semantics, but it was mostly added for comic relief, truth be told.
But yeah, that’s fair enough that there are no doubt haters just because it’s MLP. Who knows? Maybe you’re right and it makes them panic and go, “oh crap if I like ponies suppose I’m gay?” Those people are silly, and there’s no denying that.
Hopefully you can see the flip-side of that argument though. There are no doubt some people in here that are “hyped” about this for exactly the opposite reasons. The same reason one would wear a shirt that says “FUCK YOU” in giant bold letters to church. You know, just because “you’re not supposed to”. There are no doubt people in here that are like “lawl bronies brah so coooool” because it’s trending right now.
Again, I agree with what you’re saying, just providing an alternate perspective.

That’s the whole basis of my qualm with it: The game looks like an early build. People are excited about potential that hasn’t even been promised, much less seen.The game looks like it plays like shit. Things just don’t appear to work.
More power to an MLP fighting game. I’ve played dumber shit before, and will probably play dumber shit again in the future. If it ends up being good, that’d be great. It would be hilarious to have the best fighting game ever made be based around what is widely regarded as a “little girl’s cartoon”. Just imagine the comedy behind it if it turned out that Ricky Ortiz won the first Evo for the MLP FG?
But, for right now, this is a “oh that’s a funny, strange idea.” Not a “oh man, this game looks awesome”, at least to me.
Well yeah, but it’s not like I’m saying it’s the best game ever. I just expressed interest. Skullgirls didn’t look like much in the early stages either, yet it’s looking great right now.

The animation is legit, for a pre-Alpha build the game already looks really nice in terms of design. There really is nothing wrong with the game so far.

Animation of the game is awesome, that’s the only thing i want to say.
It is hard to believe that it is a fan-driven project with how fluid and well done the game looks, even in these very early stages. Anyone know how many people are on the team? Very excited for the game and looking forward to the other character’s reveals.
Hope you can sacrifice some of your lifebar/meter to transform Fluttershy into her raging form, ala Orochi Leona.

I legitimately like MLP: FiM. I’ve watched every episode and have recommended it to a lot of people, especially those I know who have little girls. Lauren Faust said she set out to make a show for girls that everyone could enjoy, more specifically parents who typically want to gouge their eyes out at most shows for girls. In my opinion she did that.

I love the idea for a fighting game because the idea in itself is just funny as hell. I’m impressed with the animation, and the people behind the game really seem like they’re wanting to deliver a quality game. I really don’t think we shouldn’t be judging the game so far because it’s in a Pre-Alpha stage right now. I consider the video to be more of a proof of concept than anything. Also, everyone knocking the game because it uses Fighter Maker 2nd as the engine needs to be reminded that the excellent Vanguard Princess used that same engine, and that game flat out kicks ass.

I enjoy the meme a lot and get a kick out of a lot of the stuff that comes out of it. Some of it is immature, yes, but a lot of it has inside jokes from the show which makes it even funnier (or 20% cooler, as Rainbow Dash would say).

Finally, and this applies to pretty much all of the internet, you people who are insulting MLP and those who like it are wasting their time, making yourselves look like idiots and/or insecure bullies, and are better off spending your valuable time elsewhere. For those of you who continue to stick around, it would be great if you did so with an open mind to follow a quirky idea that may just pay off into something amazing. At worst we are getting amazing Pony Sprites and an original soundtrack attached to a shitty, unplayable game, at best we’ll get an unexpectedly well made free game that’ll make the “I don’t like arcana cause ewww lolis” crowd cringe, which is always fun to watch. Blind hate or hype will get us nowhere, we can only hope the developers have the fortitude to see this’d to the end, and the wisdom to make a game that can match their passion and potential.
