So what can we expect from Fluttershy? Is she going to be yet another zoner?
Her sprite on the website has many animals behind her, so I’m guessing she’ll be a summoner style, whatever the proper term is for that. Like Jill or Frank West.
Based on the small amount of info given on the website, and by the lines being recited for the auditions, she’s going to use Angel as a partner, but a lot of her moves will also summon other animal friends. I foresee a lot of crap on the screen whenever Fluttershy is playing.

dunno you, but i always have the idea of her being simply clumsy and went for her derp face when she realized that did something wrong
I don’t really think there’s a characterization of her as being dumb, at least not canonically. I think it’s possibly a little too easy to read that into her characterization if you’re hell-bent on doing so, but taking that interpretation is really the greater injustice, IMO.
well, im not particulary saying it because the video that af posted (i actually liked it), but it seems that is the characterization that many “fans” feel is the correct for derpy, wich annoys me, also it doesnt help the voice that she had on the show

Well, it’s even harder to say with fan characterizations, since those are really all over the place. Some have her as some kind of savant, others have her as as fairly normal, if idiosyncratic. Some make her out to be stupid, but I feel like this is the minority.
I don’t really know about her voice, though. Part of the issue I have with the first rendition is that St. Germaine though Derpy was a dude, so the voice came out sounding more dull and less ditsy. The final product actually sounds closer to the voice most bronies have settled on. Sure, it doesn’t make her sound as sharp-witted as Twilight Sparkle, but I think the intent is that Derpy Hooves is like Bubbles. Her contributions are to be valued–she’s just… not all there all the time.
I guess what it really comes down to for me is, is Derpy Hooves treated with malice for being clumsy and having funny eyes in the show? Well, no, not on the whole. I mean, Rainbow Dash gets on her case, but Rainbow Dash gets on everyone’s case about everything. Dash isn’t exactly presented as a role model when it comes to treating people with respect, so it should be no surprise she is most vocal in expressing her frustration with Derpy’s shenanigans. Otherwise, there’s no indication given that she isn’t fully integrated into Ponyville society. Given this, being mad about the way she’s depicted doesn’t really highlight what the show seems to suggest about including everyone despite their differences.

After the Derpy buzz died down, that new voice wasn’t so bad. Except when she said ‘my bad’. I detected a tone of troll in there, which doesn’t really fit with my view of the character; unless she is the hyper intelligent Ditsy Doo, sipping cognac.
