But her win animation has to be transforming into Luna and spitting out fake fangs
I have no real issue with The Great and Powerful Trixie, her inexplicable fandom is kind of odd (then again, bronies), but I see no real reason why she shouldn’t be in the game.
Plus, the game needs more than one magic heavy unicorn. Twilight’s special tallent is magic, so she gets to be broken overpowered, most unicorns get light telekenesis as a level zero and a spell for their special talent and that’s it. Trixie’s is likely magic and showmanship, or something to that effect, she’d be interesting to see in game.
Speaking of Trixie, EqD hit 100000000 yesterday. As Jay-Z once said, next stop the billie.
Ok, so here’s the characters I think are going to be in. Pure speculation. The picture of the character select has 17 slots (although I’m not sure they’ll be able to fill that, seems very ambitious). So…
Mane 6
Celestia, Luna and/or Nightmare Moon
Spike, Zecora, Big Mac, Crusaders(as one character)
Trixie, DJ-Pon3, Gilda
Pinkamena (a kind of Evil Ryu/Violent Ken headswap sort of deal)
Depending on if they’re going for fandom-pleasing or canon, maybe Octavia.
Discord is another big one, but not sure what they said about season 2. He could make a good final boss?
IMO Pinkamena must be a Pinkie’s “Sans-culotte super” not another character.
RE: What next? Mad Twilight\Angry Fluttershy\Tired Applejack\Whining Rarity for headswap characters? Naaaaah.
I must admit, Bionic Farm is pretty hype
Derpy is a shoe in.
Oh darn, yeah you’re right. I totally forgot about Derpy, no way she’s not making it in.
Even though story mode is really an after thought these days, I can’t help but think about how they’ll reason out the boss fight and stay on theme. Then again, maybe I just want to hear her say
“The mark of my deity shall scar thy DNA.”
Then rearing and shouting “The fun has DOUBLED!” Or maybe they should give Luna (base) a Morrigan double-body or Gallon-style afterimages super and use the quote for that.
Twilight with Cheerilee assists, preaze!
Hey people, I’m Wildy333 from, well… —> http://www.youtube.com/user/Wildy333
I came here cause I noticed people talking about the game and giving speculations and I noticed Triox’s post (t’s creepily spot on! Especially for speculation o_O I envy your abilities)
But I can share with you the info I know. All these things are not final and are subject to change.
Basics:
As far as I’ve experienced the button layout is that similar to BlazBlue.
**:snka: **= Light Attack
:snkb: = Medium Attack
:snkc: = Heavy Attack
:snkd: = Magic
:df::snkc: = Launcher
:f::snkc: = Grab
The basic combo formula is simply :snka: to :snkb: to :snkc: for ground combos and can do the launcher at the end of the combo. Some characters are able to perform the :snka::snkb::snkc: combo in the air, however it varies on the character and their abilities.
The magic system in the game allows the player to gain magic by performing certain prerequisites to gain magic to allow the player to preform special actions and moves. That’s it for basics.

Edit from Triox’s post -
(Nothing officially confirmed)
Twilight Sparkle:
Bio: Twilight is made to be a projectile mix-up, as you can see from the videos. As of now, she has the lowest health of the mane cast.
Grab:
A basic grab that tosses the opponent in the opposite direction.
Specials:
Fireball: :qcf::atk:
–Depending on which attack used gives different fireballs (highly speculated)
– Light will do a fireball in front of the character that slowly floats to the ground (Can be done in air)
– Medium will do ???
– Heavy will shoot a fireball across the screen
Source: @0:15 in video 1 you can see the developer shooting fireballs at the trap. It looks like he is using the arrow keys and he’s pressing “down, forward, A-key”. @0:43 you can see the developer jump in the air and place a fireball. Looking at his motions is seems (could be wrong here) that he is jumping, then doing "down, forward, A-Key). The different types of attacks doing different fireballs seems weird right now. It seems like the motions are “down, forward” for both type of fireballs, yet it looks like the developer was able to shoot both types of fireballs with “down, forward A-key”.
Teleport: :dp::atk: for forward teleport. :rdp::atk: for backwards teleport
*Source: @0:37 in video 1, the player asks about the the “other super” and the developer tells him "*down, forward, down, forward, C". The player tried it then gets a fireball ( :qcf: attack) then he does a teleport. I’m assuming it’s DP by guessing the player messed up the input for super and cut his motion off too early, ending in down-forward. @3:55 you hear the developer say “back, down-back” to the player. Shortly after, the player backwards teleports.
Magic System Moves:
Studying: :snkd:
–Gains 1 magic (Max. 3)
Book Trap: :qcb::atk:
–Most likely, depending on which attack you use (Light, Medium, or Heavy) will depend on where the book is placed.
–Using all 3 attacks will place the floating trap in the air and consumes all of your magic meter.
*–*3 Attack version will block projectiles
–Can also be done in the air
–Uses 1 magic per move
Souce: 0:06 in video 1 the developer (?) is talking about the magic system. he tells the guy “Down Back” and you can see the player do the motion on the controller. @0:15 you can hear him say “blocks projectiles” when the 3 attack version trap is out and then you can see his fireballs get blocked.
Fireball: :qcf::snkd:
–Shoot a high-speed fireball across the screen
–Causes Wall Bounce
–Uses 3 magic
Supers:
Book Beam (Level 1): :qcf::qcf::snkc:
Source: @0:37 in video 1 you hear the developer say “down, forward, down, forward, C” then the player asks about the “other supers”.). The player then does the super around 0:45.
Twilight Inferno (Level 3): ???
Applejack:
Bio:* Applejack is the heavy-hitting tank of the cast. She strong control and supremacy for ground based fighting. She’s not very combocentric and lacks control in the air.*
Grab:
A basic grab that tosses the opponent in the opposite direction.
Specials:
Lasso: :hcf::atk:
–Command Throw
–Can grab high(anti-air) or grab low(ground)
–Gains 1 magic (Max. 3)
Source: @6:55 in video 2, you see Applejack grab Twilight and slam her into the wall on the other side of the screen. Earlier in the video someone mentioned that Applejack had a command grab, so this might be it.
Ground Stomp: :d::d::atk:
–Does a low sweep attack to opponent from a set distance ( :snka: being the closest, :snkc: being the farthest. Think C.Viper’s Seismic Hammer)
–OTG

Magic System Moves:
Ground Stomp: :d::d: :snkd:
–Does a low sweep attack on entire ground
–Only dodgeable in the air
–OTG
–Unblockable
– Not sure if it uses 1 magic or 3 magic (I forget, sorry)
Counter: ???
– Uses 1 magic
From what the developer told me, it’s similar to Street Fighter Alpha’s counter system, but I haven’t tested it myself and only seen it done once.

Supers:
Bionic Farm (Level 1): :qcb::db::qcf::snkc:
*Source: @2:26 in Video 2 the player asks “How do I do the special?”. The developer says “down, back, down, forward, heavy”. Since the player didn’t have 3 bars, I don’t see why the developer would give the input for a level 3 super. This is also assuming Bionic Farm is a level 1. *(It is a level 1)
Pinkie Pie:
Bio:* I know it’s been said alot but this has to be noted, Pinkie Pie is combocentric. Her moveset is very chaotic and frantic on ground and air. Many of her ground moves move her forward a small amount causing some pressure. In addtiion, it has to be importantly noted that she is also a charge character. As of now, Pinkie and Rarity have no magic system yet.*
Grab:
Her grab is actually unique and is made to be a set-up. It does no damage but it launches the opponent in the air making them vulnerable.
Specials:

Cartwheel Kick: Hold :f: :atk:
–Pinkie does a cartwheel kick at the opponent
–:snka: and :snkb: versions are quick
–:snkc: version is slightly slower, but is an overhead
–Causes floor bounce (Not sure if it’s for :snkc: version only…)

Notable Mentions:
Foam-Finger: :snkc:
–Hits twice
–Second hit is an overhead
Rarity:
Bio:* Rarity is a long reach, keep away character. Her moves seem to slower than cast so far but she can hit from an extended length farther than the others making getting close difficult.*

Grab:
A basic grab that tosses the opponent forward. (If my memory serves me well, I only seen it once…)
Specials:
Magic Gem: :qcf::atk: to summon in front of Rarity, :qcb::atk: to summon next to opponent
–Rarity summons a gem from the ground stays on screen for a second before projecting itself to a certain direction
–:snka:summons a blue gem that hits horizantally ( :f:)
–:snkb: summons a yellow gem that hits up diagonally ( :uf: )
–:snkc: summons a red gem that hits vertically ( :u: ) (Causes launch if hit)
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Well, I hoped that helped everybody.
Off topic
P.S. This constant log out thing is annoying.

EDIT: 1/14/2012 - Forgot to add info about grabs just in case anyone is curious.
Can’t wait to see Pinkie Pie’s and Rarity’s magic system
Check off remember me… helps big time. I haven’t had that problem since.
But yeah, it’s unbelievably annoying…
Rarity sounds awesome, even with only one known move.
Latest ep. was friggin’ adorable X3
I think Mr. and Mrs. Cake gave birth to gods.
Babies fly better than Scootaloo and do magic better than Sweetie Belle. That explains why they are still lacking their cutie marks.
They lucked out winning that genetic lottery and not being born as earth ponies.
Now that we know unicorns can fly, there’s no reason to not be a unicorn.
except that wings are SO DAMN BADASS!
think about aesthetics bro.
You forget how badass unicorn horns are.
