That’s better than I did, good stuff
So they can pretty much still work on this and “leak” it if they wanted to?
I lost my Money Match against Zippiggy in Fighting is Magic at SCR. Hadn’t seriously touched the game in like a year (same for him though). During the set someone came up and asked if they can get next. Then someone else. Then Hellpockets and his Friend played a set. Eventually we downloaded Tribute Edition and it ended up that there was a FiM set up for about an hour and a half at SCR.
The people working on it now aren’t the people who were working on it back then. The new crew has been completing a version that was leaked before Hasbro’s C&D. Don’t confuse them with Mane6 as that may all be legally problematic for them.
Has anyone considered bringing this game to WNF, or otherwise doing a weekly stream for it?
I doubt WNF is a good idea. There’s not much space for a laptop and streaming it might get super in trouble. I guess you can stream online play of tribute edition but that won’t be as hype as offline.
As someone who’s been around different FGC scenes, I’ve noticed one of the keys for keeping the hype alive for a game lies in what activities are done outside the big tourney settings. Even if it’s super low key, there needs to be a community of players constantly battling each other, and trading whatever tech they learn for the game. I wonder, though, how that can be done without streaming in major venues?
The Squirrelnet forum and Telepone chat is basically that place for the MLP:FiMTE community.
You got links to those, erikman?
Well, all of these links were on the official launch youtube vid, as well as the google doc that has the DL links, as well as a google search. But this specific forum page has everything you need to jump into the community.
Hirosashii’s 2-part tutorial on Rainbow Dash. Very informative if you’re looking to pick her up.

Rainbow Dash mechanically is everything I don’t like about fighting games. She’s my favorite pony by a mile, so I’ll try to grin and bear it, but that is definitely not the type of character I’d want to play otherwise.
Hey guys, just thought I’d post some matches of some beginner Japanese players.
I also have matches with some better JP players (and one insane godlike Twilight player with the handle “みずちゃま”, whose footsies and abuse of her normals are UNBELIEVABLE), but I haven’t been able to record them yet.
Woops, I screwed up the recording screen, haha!
Oh well.
Japanese beginner [JPN]heymBB vs. me. I’m on the 2P side by the way.
Man look at all the drops I’m doing as Applejack… the new combo mechanics are severely screwing up her air normals!
Been a while since I uploaded something!
Matches with a beginner player from Japan, looking to main Rainbow Dash, [JPN]cupcakes_ヨシお. I take him on and do the Rainbow Dash mirror match to somehow try and show him some good ideas for neutral game. I’m on the 2P side by the way.
P.S. I have no proper BnBs HAHA
Okay I’m interested in this game but I only have a pad to play it sadly :(. Thinking of using Fluttershy/Rarity mostly, maybe Twi.
Where can I download the game?

Scroll down to “STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR GAME BUILD” and click the link associated with “Tribute Edition”. Follow the instructions on the google doc.
Yay! Hellpockets uploaded a video of online casuals!
Am I wrong to assume that it takes a very patient and calculating approach to get the most out of Pinkie in this game? From what I’ve seen, if you can’t find a rhythm for charges and when to use the Party Cannon, it is very easy for someone to get wrecked playing her
^ however, when you do get that rhythm, she’s easily top tier material. (played a proficient JP PP player for a while and… just… urgh)
I’m on a pad too, actually. I use my PS2 and 3 controller to play, with help from Motioninjoy and Xpadder.
Oh and before something happens: don’t use the Joystick function that comes with the game. Seriously. Use Xpadder to map your buttons to the corresponding keys instead.
We’ll never get to see the secret 3 characters… will we?
