MLP: Fighting Is Magic - A Fighting game for manly men only (New characters from MLP creator?!)

Never doubted it for a moment. While I worry that my support contributed to the fall of Mane6, given my pushing it with Ultrachen and getting involved in evo donation driving; I was happy to organise groups of pony fans over to SG when Mane6 first made their statement because I got to see the moment Mike Z said to email him. That alone had me maintaining donation support for it before the Mane6 support was shown, and while I would happily bet matching my three donation accounts that at the end of the day, if you deducted brony contributions you’d still have 725k, I’m still glad to have done it.

As well as getting big band to say Sax Bomb =3c

oops

Excellent

Some crow has been served and the FGC gets another original game in the works even if it won’t appeal to most of them.

Victoly!

And the campaign is still climbing, looks like Robo-Fortune already will have her very own stage and story mode now as well. I don’t think my brain can take any more hype this week @.@

Man, people sure do have a lot of money on them.

$779K >_>

Holy shit, they may actually reach 825k, that’s ridiculous.

Pretty sure they will. On average they’ve been getting about $1k every 2 minutes.

That’s awesome to see that the game is getting that kind of support though. Anybody who says that people don’t play or support Skullgirls can now EAD. $825,000 is nothing to sneeze at, and this will be adding 5 new characters to the game. 13 characters, while still somewhat small of a roster, really isn’t that bad or enough for people to complain about lack of character choice now, imo. There’s still wiggle room for being creative with teams and the characters’ assists.

We did it! 5th playable character funded just now!

827K now. Donations are STILL coming in.

Poor Peter’s gonna have a lot of comment to sort through for those upgraded tiers. But seriously, this fundraiser has been incredible! Looking forward to voting and to see what the Skullgirls engine is capable of doing for the Mane6 crew. I think I need to sleep now, been waaaay too much excitement tied to rising numbers for me lately

it’s still climbing up

$829, 829

I cannot believe this actually happened! 829,829 is the new lucky number. Also, that dragon bar on the page is perfect!

I think we can unanimously call this campaign a success!

Not really that surprising, people like their fighting games, people like their FGC. I’ll admit I was surprised by some of the mid 20’s community members who have been working for the last 6 years and have savings they’ve never really done anything with sinking 2-5k on it, but the actual figures really don’t bring anything shocking.

You saw how much was donated during the Evo fund, and the difference there was they didn’t even know if there was going to be a pay off for their interest.

Respec knuckles though.

I’m just glad I won’t be getting spammed emails and notifications anymore about every donation made and how much money and time was left, every 2 minutes! X(

But looks like we’ll have plenty to look forward to. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

A new tweet from Lauren Faust!

Now that Mane6 is switching to the Skullgirls engine, Lauren gets to use classical animation techniques again. And apparently she likes it.

Wow, sounds like Mane6 will be becoming an official studio in the future. I wonder how the funding situation will work, and if the product will still be a free-to-play game. A kickstarter-esc fundraiser would certainly help, but I’m betting a lot of the FGC side of things is probably still in recovery from last week, for now at least.
