Heard about it Friday night. Very heartbreaking to hear so close to a potential release, and after a long time of work. I’m still hoping they’re able to work out the legal issues. Lauren Faust has been really supportive in the aftermath, even offered some ideas: <a href=“https://twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/300098640150687744”>https://twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/300098640150687744</a>. Either way, this project and the development team have been amazing so far, and I wish them the best of luck with the situation.

I would definitely still be interested in a continuation of the project with original characters. It would probably mean starting from scratch with a lot of things, but if the spirit and dedication are still there to make it then I’m on board. Plus, original characters could turn out really cool.

Sadly, the creators didn’t take this in a well mannered fashion, so even with alternatives offered, I don’t see them bouncing back in a single month.

Reading the notice… seems like a lot of drama even outside of Hasbro.
Possibly but a lot of the team is still intact. Elosande left recently, but Prominence did so over a year ago. I thought their message didn’t seem too negative considering the situation. Not saying it’d be easy for them to continue, but it’s certainly not impossible.
I always find it odd that people who create fan works infringing on copyrights and trademarks get shook and cancel their projects whenever some big corporation writes a big “scary” letter or email telling them can’t.
There’s literally nothing anybody can do to stop you from continuing and developing your project and freely distributing it over the internet upon it’s completion even if it means doing it anonymously and without any publicity if you’re fearful of these corporate “threats”.
