LOL, look at them point out SO HARD! They are doing everything but saying “Screw you who leaked it, and screw all of you who download and play it.” They did this in their last update too, I love it!
Just to clear this up, we aren’t saying ‘screw you’ to those who played the leak. Some of the biggest fans of the game are playing the leak. The only person we dislike is the one that stole it. We are literally doing nothing different in the mechanics that we wouldn’t have done anyway.
What we are trying to point out is that the tournament was mean to be a level playing field. At, least, as level as we could make it. The stolen build totally screwed that up for obvious reasons, so we are trying to reassure people that the leak-players won’t have too much of an advantage. Of course they will have an advantage, but there isn’t much we can do about that, and we aren’t going to maliciously change things just to screw with those players. It’s been pretty disheartening for some people (and yes, we’ve had people comment that they cancelled the ticket for CLG because of the leak, kinda stink). The muscle memory of the combos for leak players may even screw some of them up depending how much they’ve ingrained them. That’s it. If you are really good at fighters you should do well regardless if you’ve played the leak.
Another very talented voice actress! Sounds like it’ll likely be the last VA call before the initial release too, which kind of makes me wonder how the Story mode will work (ie. will there be any universal boss characters that may or may not require VAs, etc.). Probably an unanswerable question, but speculation is fun.
And some of your biggest fans refuse to play the leak in respect of the team, the team’s work. and the entire situation. Like me: I’m willing to wait for the real deal instead of downloading something wrongfully spoiled.
In any case, I believe that was the third time I saw it mentioned somewhere on the Mane6 website the fact that the leaked build is way outdated when compared to the build that will be at Canterlot Gardens. Due to this, I got a impression that ‘It won’t be the same as the leak, so why even…?’ and I merely stated it in a more crude fashion while making it as if I was speaking for you. For that, I apologize, as it is not my right or place to do so. While I know you guys would never be so rude to anyone, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of discouragement towards downloading the leak. And now, it makes even more sense: if none of the basics have changed, leak players will have that advantage.
Really wish I could have afforded to go: I’ll just root for a person who didn’t touch the leak to win.
Btw, not a day passes by that I don’t think about this game, especially on Sundays. Even with Injustice coming, as well as Playstation All-Stars and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 and Microsoft renewing the Killer Instinct trademark (OMIGOSH OMIGOSH OMIGOSH!!!), I’m still hyped for this above them all…and after reading the confirmation on who is voicing RD, my hype just blew through the ROOF! I wanna see some Pegasus pony mechanics SO BAD!
I’ve recently slowed down playing this game for a while now due to being isolated from the rest of the scene so far lol (dammit Philippines)
A lot of the guys over at my local scene are also just waiting for an official release so hopefully I actually get more competition by the time that happens.
I dropped Twi completely after realizing how broken she was in the leak. Hopefully the launcher just gets fixed, increase some frames on the projectile and I guess she’d be perfect for playing (because seriously the launcher cancels into everything on whiff/block what the crap)
That said I’ve recently found myself using Rarity and I can see how players are making her really effective. Them good pokes from anywhere.
I’ve recently switched computers and I’m not really planning on playing the game again till the final release, I can’t wait to see what new things are in the tournament build, seeing what has changed and such.
I’ve never been a big fan of super huge cancel fighting games, but this is like the only exception because y’kno, ponies
