I thought Wiz already said that
It’s good to hear that MLG isn’t involved with Evo this year. Granted that Halo has a huge following and made Evo05 bigger than all the other Evo’s, it’s amazing to see that MLG is out of the picture since this raises the chances that it won’t take place in Las Vegas again. If Evo is in California, where it originally started and where it should have stayed, players who aren’t deterred by the “i’m not 21 so whats the point of me going to Vegas” attitude are able to attend.
Funny how console gamers can’t ATTEMPT to come together for a better good. You go to a PC LAN, and there are literally hundreds of different types of gamers and genres, and aside from yelling in team games, no one has a problem with each other.
With this its like “OMG FUCK MLG AND HALO TEH NOOB, SFZZZZZ FO LIFE!!!111”. Co-exsist, and we(as a fight scene) would have a much better venue, publicity, turnout, and eventually…public acceptance as a hobby rather than a violent video game tournament.
It’s all good though, will definetly be there regardless of who host it and how much I suck.
i wondr if evo is goin to be around pomona this year or ucla:sweat:
or have it on the east coast for once
MLG as an organization doesn’t know shit about fighting games. They saw Super Turbo and was like… uh… what game is this? W.T.F!!! And MvC2 is cool because “it has a lot of colorful things on the screen.” Huh!!!
Yeah and there were more 11 year olds playing halo than there were ‘mature’ aged semi-adults
So, where is evo gonna be @ ?
Definitely huh, because who the fuck said that?
Their business isn’t fighting games, let them go back to halo and do what they do. Good for them i say, a halo tourney is better than no tourney. Asking them to start working in the fighting game community would probably go over as well as asking evo staff care about halo because of the 5 or so people that play SF and halo hardcore.
While it’s nice to have rhetoric about wanting to create competition for all games and all gamers, it’s a bit more complex than that. I believe it’s very possible to have mixed fighting/fps/who knows, but it’s probably not territory EVO or MLG would want to shift their attention to right now. They both seem to be lot more productive to their respective communities without the other party in the way.
sounds like they knew what they were doing.
None other than their head honcho.
I knew Sundance was balder than I thought!
I wish I could go to evo and rep East Coast in MVC2 n 3S play against some japanse players in 3S oh well…
Took the words right out my mouth about EVO.
MLG at TS5 was alright. They chilled on the right side of the room and fighting games on the left. Everything was chill and lots of room for casuals. Holding checks is a no no
MLG may suck with all the Halo heads but that Hotel at TS5 was fucking awesome; I never been to a tournament with so much convience! And I was told that the arrangments at Evo2k5 were nice too.
The venue for Evo2k5 was fantastic, but there was a boatload of issues with how things were being run in the ballroom.
