Well, this is the first offer that Boras actually passed on to Manny to let him check out, so I’m not calling Boras an idiot (for this one atleast). I just don’t care if we get Manny anymore. In fact, I kinda don’t want him anymore. He doesn’t play well if he’s not happy & doesn’t seem like the Dodgers can make him an offer that’ll make him happy.
Sigh today I just kept Manny on as a keeper in one of my keeper leagues. If he continues being a baby this is gonna suck
Ok, so the details of the contract were wrong. This is actually how it goes, it’s a 2-year deal:
$10 million for '09 and '10 (player option)
$10 million deferred for '11 and '12, $5 million deferred for '13; no interest
So maybe I can understand why they rejected this deal, but that just gives more reason why he should have taken the original 2-year $45 million deal that was guaranteed.

Your starting pitching is pretty bad. Trade some offence for a top pitcher or at least a solid one. Your offence is pretty solid and you pretty much have SB on lock. Just hope Rollins can bounce back from last year and Rios can finally play up to his potential.
I offered Xavier Nady for BJ Ryan and I got countered offer with Ryan Theriot and BJ Ryan for Ted Lily and Kelly Johnson. I feel like I’m getting ripped off here and I want some opinions on this trade.
Depends on your roster. Do you need SB’s and saves more than HR’s and W’s?
Theriot’s a pretty good guy for SS as well, which is harder to fill than 2B. More steals, higher average, and at least the same amount of runs than Kelly Johnson will have, although he has no power and Kelly Johnson will hit like 15-20 homers. Which is great for a middle infielder.
I think Lily will outpitch Zambrano this year though.
But it’s hard to gauge trades when they’re not straight up position for position, context is required.
Dammit, I probably can’t make the keeper draft for eppie’s league - I’ll have to jump in later rounds if we don’t push it back from 8:00 EST. Anyway that’s possible?
