MLB (Baseball) 2009 (including fantasy leagues)

4 1st Basemen for the National League? What’s that about? Ryan Howard’s not an all-star this year.

Nah, he isn’t. Charlie just selected him so he could play in front of his home crowd.

Man it looks like ATL is right, no one has picked up Glavine or shown interest and Smoltz is done.

lol just a few daya ago sandoval let a pop up foul bounce off the inside of his glove, rasmus hit a walk off homer two pitches later

Man, the Phillys just laid a beating on the Reds, 22-1, ouch.

In other news, Ricky Romero might have a shot at RotY, which to be perfectly honest I don’t want him to get considering what happened last time coughHinksecough

It’s not like Romero has much competition for ROTY. The touted rookies like Price,Wieters,Snider, and Andrus have had slow starts to their MLB careers. All-Star Andrew Bailey is his main competition right now. Bailey has the better numbers but he’s a reliever so that’s expected.

Gordon Beckham for RotY!!! Watch his monster second half
Ok maybe not RotY but the dudes for real.
Quentin = god
Beckham = savior
White Sox win AL Central . Buehrle, Danks, Floyd too much . bet it

Yeah so I had Cueto and Milwood starting on fantasy. needless to say my ERA is at 30+ haha. Not to mention I had Washburn on my bench and he threw a compete game 1 hitter. Wow I am goot manager.

Ken Rosenthal on potential teams that might trade for Halladay:
White Sox. Ken Williams arranged a deal for Jake Peavy; why wouldn’t he act on Halladay?
Williams’ offer for Peavy, centered around left-handers Aaron Poreda and Clayton Richard, probably would not be enough. But if the White Sox were willing to move superstar-in-waiting Gordon Beckham, look out.
HAHAHAHAAH yeah right, we would never trade THE SAVIOR. Fuck off.

But on a serious note, I hear the Jays are looking for a premier shortstop, fuck i would be so pissed if Kenny Williams did this trade. The sad part is I can see him doing it as he seems to be in love with Halladay, for good reason of course. Damn, it probably wouldn’t only be Beckham but our best pitching prospect Aaron Poreda as well.

Halladay is a monster no doubt, but he’s only signed for the next year and a half, then he’s going to be looking for Sabathia type money. He could potentially get us a title this year or next but there’s definitely no guarantee he would. Ugh.

I told them not to sign Vernon to a $17 million a year contract. I TOLD THEM!!!

If only they listened

I’m not too worried about the Jays trading Halladay, since there’s no harm in just listening to offers and to be honest, if they were to get an amazing package of top prospects, I wouldn’t mind it too much (Although I do love Halladay [no homo], so I’d be a bit sad). Considering that Rosenthal put this out, I don’t think I’ll lose any sleep over this.

Also, it seems only the Jays can rack up 10 hits and score only 1 run. I really feel bad for Rzepczynski who pitched a very solid game tonight.

Guess you didn’t click the link that Mr. Noodle posted? Rosenthal didn’t put this out, the Jays did.

Here’s Rosenthals link, where he’s just speculating what teams would have to give up in order to get Halladay.
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9777314/Jays’-Halladay-all-but-gone-in-Toronto

I don’t think he’s going anywhere because I don’t think any team is going to give up what the Jays are going to ask for.

Bah, bad choice of words.

I meant in regards to what Rosenthal said in the article, and hell, look at the title name -.-

If the Jays trade Halladay, I have no idea what’ll do

If you all get what the Jays are asking for you all will be better off. He’s leaving after next year anyway, and don’t you all have like 20 starters anyway, cuz your whole rotation got hurt and you all still got by with whoever you all were throwing out there. Anyway whatever hah.

In other news…

Here’s a couple of pics of my favorite player…and his truck.

There’s a link in there to Jon Liebers truck which is actually bigger but doesn’t look as cool.

Been seeing that term used a lot regarding stars on Toronto teams lol.

Yeah you kinda get used to it, but having grown up watching Roy, this one hurts (as compared to the future departure of Chris Bosh, which is more of a meh).

He’s saying he wants to stay, but of course it could all be smoke and mirrors. It all really depends on how we finish this season and how to do next year I suppose.

Whatever the price will drop for Halladay like it always does for these type of players. 2 blue chip prospects and talent? Sorry Halladay’s good but he’s not empty your farm system to rent for a season good.

Don’t forget that whoever gets Halladay will get 2 draft picks back if they don’t resign him after next year.

In other news, Hanrahan just got the win for the Nationals’ rain delayed game vs Houston, after they traded him to the Pirates, becoming the first pitcher to ever win a game while playing for a different team.

WOO HOO! Yankees are back in 1st (tied w/Boston). THIS is how they are supposed to be playing, tied for the 2nd best record in baseball. FINALLY!

ha ha cubs suck! cardnials wil always own the cubs once the cards get halladay the central is a lock.
