Unfortunately both Scott Boras and Manny think that 4 year 100 million dollar offer is coming and they will accept nothing less then that. Man will they ever be severely disapointed.
Market’s kind of weird with Manny unsigned…I think guys like Dunn, Griffey, and Abreu are waiting to see how much Manny signs for and then adjust their own expectations accordingly. I think Manny’s holding up the market for them.
I cannot believe no one’s signed Adam Dunn yet though. What’s going on here?
I got the email today saying my league at foxsports.com is ready to go again. Is somebody going to actually join this time?
I may be wrong, but I don’t remember a season being this close with so many big names still being unsigned. Ramirez, Abreu, Dunn, Sheets, Hudson, O Cabrera, Pedro, to name a few.
I wish my White sox would go after Sheets instead of Abreu, I don’t see how this guy is still unsigned.
Haha sorry for the mixed up terminology. Dynasty leagues are keeper leagues where you keep the whole team instead of getting to keep 5 or 3 or whatever, but yeah, I totally meant a keeper league. Also, some leagues completely stop and start anew if someone 3peats (hence, the “Dynasty” past of it). Dynasty leagues suck when someone stops playing cause the only people a new manager can choose from are the ones that the quitter left behind. So yeeeah, meant a keeper league :).
As for Marie Digby, she’s been touring a lot. Last time I checked, she was in Japan touring.

P.S.- I would kill myself before joinning a mlb fan league. The BBall season is long, but baseball take 6 months of your life away!! :lame: MLB is overkill imo on the fan leagues.
The same reason why the braves didn’t go after ben sheets! BECAUSE HE IS INJURY PRONE!!! There can’t be any other reason because he kills us when he plays against the braves. :wasted: I wish the braves would get him and manny and start spending like the yankee’s! Mr. Blank needs to buy the braves so we can take over the NL like we did when Ted turner was the owner. Well he was the owner when we sucked through 1966-1989. Well we suck until we got glavine and smoltz. Hell we sucked with them for 2 years, but that all changed in 1990.
With getting Sid breem and Terry Pendilton in FA and having young studs like justice, gant, glavine, smoltz, and avery propel the braves into a 14 year run. SOme of thes ekids have never seen the braves lose like they are now. Most of my nephews never seen the braves lose. I did and I don’t want those days to make a comeback.
Come on Mr. Blank! Buy the braves so we can start spending some money and build a real team!!! Derek Lowe was a nice pick up, but we need another ace with smoltz leaving us for the redsox. I’m still pissed about the Braves letting him go!!! :mad: They didn’t offer him shit and that was mad disrespectful to the heart and soul of the Braves! :wtf: I prolly will only goto the braves game when the redsox come into town just so I can give smoltz a standing ovation for all of the hard work he did for this team in the past. Chipper wasn’t the leader of the braves. It was smoltz and we will miss him dearly. :sad:

eppie, what are the details of the keeper league you want to set up? Is it a Yahoo league? How many do we keep? Drafting or bidding process?
We’ll need a really hardcore group of managers though. I seem to remember our league last year was pretty good, only the problem in Yahoo leagues is too many voters reject trades, nothing gets through.
I wonder if we can do an ESPN one like the super awesome basketball one we have right now.

I know he is injury prone, but I think he is worth the risk. Last years stats: 31 starts, 5 cg, 3 sho, 200 IP, 158k/47bb, 13w/9l, 3.09 era, I think thats worth 8 mil, and would take the chance.
That being said, im sure all the teams have been watching him closely and maybe think he hasnt fully recovered from his injury, so yeah.
Smoltz was a beast, I got a lot of respect for that guy.
EDIT: Can i get an invite to the keeper league if its formed??? I have been in our fantasy baseball league the past 2 years, and enjoy playing with you fellow srkers. Never played in a keeper league though but it sounds like fun.
It’s funny, I think I remember Eppie saying he was new to baseball last year heh.
If you are a team with a really solid bullpen, Sheets would be a really good pickup. All he’s required to do is stay healthy, and pitch solidly for 5-6 innings, Rich Harden style.
Certainly wouldn’t mind the White Sox picking Sheets up, considering our bullpen from 7-9 is pretty much already set up and could be nigh-unhittable again, like last year’s. Too bad we’ve pretty much already approached our salary cap limit and this is unlikely to happen, barring any trades midseason.

You should get a league or together first before considering a draft time. How many teams, and all that stuff.

I decided to check the schedule of my beloved Mariners. Maybe MLB had given them an April full of bottom-feeding teams just like them where they can probably get a good start, which will be false at the end, but give us something to be happy about. Something that would lift our spirits just a little bit before the reality comes crashing down on us.
