Haha, yeah. Was cracking up when I saw that on Baseball Tonight.
Damn O’s!!! Too early in the season for me to be biting my nails and getting sweaty palms. Plus they are throwing Simon tomorrow. Trembley has me all out of wack with this rotation switch.
When did Wang start making 160+ million? I assume you’re referring to CC and he’s 1-1, unlike Chien Mang Wang who won 19 games 2 seasons ago, and now is sucking cock.
If you’re going to insult the Yankees, get the facts straight first;)
He does have the facts straight. “so so 5 mil pitcher” in reference to Wang & “overpriced 160+ million pitcher” in reference to CC.
SD in first place is extra lols.
I’m glad to see my A’s bounce back. Good shit.
SD in first, Toronto & Baltimore leading the AL East + AL Wildcard, Mariners leading the AL West…
So Travis Snider hit 2 bombs against the Twins and the Jays lose another pitcher…
Go Go Brad Mills callup!
Ok, what exactly am I missing? How can he possibly reference that a “so so 5 mil pitcher” is better than a 160 million dollar pitcher? Sabathia is 1-1. Wang now is 0-2 with a 28 ERA. I’m really hoping I missed the boat somewhere and he’s not claiming that having Wang around is better than having Sabathia. I mean, fuck, I love Wang and all and any day that he wants to start pitching like he used to, I’m all for it but CC is clearly the better pitcher.
Do you guys remember when the Royals were leading their division for the first 2 weeks during last season…?
…Yeah, me neither. Carry on now! :wonder:
I remember when the Royals came close to setting the losing streak record. Damn shame too. They deserved it.
Yes, CC is absolutely the better pitcher than Wang, but that still has not justified his contract. What the Yankees were looking from him were strikeouts and the ability to eat innings. I trust that he will cause he has never been an impressive April pitcher, but I think that’s the point that guy was making. While Wang has been terrible, atleast he’s not pitching terribly on a huge contract. CC, on the other hand, so far has not been overwhelmingly impressive. Sure, he’s 1-1, but that’s not all that matters. 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA & 1.58 WHIP with the teams he’s played having been BALTIMORE and KANSAS CITY is by no means impressive. Obviously, he’s a lot better than that, but I think that’s the point that guy was trying to make. You can find that kind of performance for much cheaper.
so something tells me that it’s two certain marine-themed teams this year at the world series…
I think it was worded terribly, but I have to agree that expectations are MUCH higher for CC’s MASSIVE salary. As a baseball fan, I’d love to see a salary cap but as a Yankees fan…I’m so glad we have at least 4 good starting pitchers (CC/Wang/Pettite/Burnett) w/Joba still being unproven.
Great win over the Rays, we needed that.
Another nail biter for the O’s. I’d like to see Ray perform well in long relief and replace Sherrill. Oh, and poor Daisuke Burnett was on fire tonight though. Good shit even though I despise the MFY.
Yanks might have to get SWISHER to spot start and bat, National League style if Wang doesn’t bounce back. Swish is the April MVP for the Yanks so far!
Agreed.
I made a bet that AJ Burnett will have a better overall year than CC against my Yankee loving friend though, so let’s keep this up! >:]
My playoff/WS predictions aren’t looking too hot at the moment though.
I only start looking at playoff picture in July. 163 games and we’re barely on 9 right now haha
162 games
The top of the Orioles lineup is crazy right now. Wonder why Adam Jones hasn’t even attempted to steal a base yet.
I’m with ya on that. Jones actually worked on that in the spring so I’m sur it’s coming. He definitely has the speed to do so. Get him and Roberts on and the pitcher is sure to be rattled. I do enjoy it when Roberts is on As for the O’s rotation I REALLY wish Matusz, Tillman, and Arietta were ready. I’m down with not rushing them. But what happens if the O’s actually have a shot a the playoffs(yeah, I know, it’s a longshot)? Then you have to into bringing some of them up. Oh well, at least I’m sure we’ll see Wieters soon. One more thing, the O’s are pissing around with Freel, Pie, and Scott in left when they have Lou Montanez down in AAA. He was solid last year when they brought him up and his AAA ball numbers continue to look great. Okay, enough of my O’s rant. It’s just really nice to see them play somewhat solid ball again.
