Mortal Kombat has the potential to be good, it just needs new developers, particularly a new lead developer. If Boon left and they brought in some ex capcom or snk employees they might actually make a decent fighting game.
am i the only one hear that actually like mk vs dc? i used to have a blast with this game when my friends were over. after street fighter 4 came out i haven’t played it since. i hope this new mk is really good as i like the characters and story.
It was a decent game offline. The online netcode was a joke, and online is the only scene it had. Online actually made the properties of moves CHANGE! That’s just ridiculous.
Like MENTHOL previously stated, they need to make the game 2D and have UMK3 gameplay. That plus good netcode = a good game.

They need to look at Dark Presence and go HD digitised. That is the only thing that can bring back MK.
You can blame Stern and Goddell for fucking us all. The world needs a Hang Time bad as fuck. Too bad Stern’s an idiot turn down free money. An actual Blitz game…not on Goddell’s watch. Blitz was too fucking classic and then they fucked it up with that Pro bullshit. The later ones are decent but nothing fucks with Blitz 2000.
As far as MK9 goes, I’ll just wait and see. If they wanna do something right then this is the time to do it.

I haven’t played a Mortal Kombat since Deadly Alliance, I refused to, they focused too much on bullshit and took away from the fighting (not that the fighting was ever amazing but it was fun at least).
All I ask from MK9 is that it’s playable as a fighter, not as a bullshit adventure game and each character has a cool fatality, I watched the MK vs DC fatality’s on you tube, they’re pathetic.

Pretty much all of this is right on the money. MKvDC was an improvement. Best MK game since UMK3. If they’d bring the game play back a bit and make it closer to UMK3, but with modern graphics. You know, something like what SF4 did, then include GOOD netcode and a good matching system, people will play it.

I played it a bit and its an improvement over the previous titles.
Its not as bad as people say but its just casual fun.
Online, it’s horrible. The properties of your moves change, it’s redonkulous.
Offline, it’s decent. But it doesn’t have an offline scene.
That’s a good goal to have.
