MK9 Wavedash

Idk if this has been said or not, but similar to Tekken’s wave dash, you can cancel your back/forward dashes with block and wave dash in the same manner. Back back block back block etc. You can even do back block back block etc. and after the first back motion, the rest will count at dashes. I’m sure it’s been found since it looked like it was used a lot in the recent tournaments. But I couldn’t find a post about it.

Yeah we just call it Dash Blocking

Yeah, it’s one of theways people say to deal with approaching Sub Zero using clones.

It’s absolutely necessary in certain matchups. Also, extremely late. This is already a well known and implement technique.

Before making a thread about a “discovery,” it’s usually a good idea to make sure you know what’s known to avoid this sort of thing. With only a little bit of getting to know the forums you’d know that block dashing is already known about.

I didn’t know you only had to start pressing which direction you want once. I kept tapping twice, lol. Thanks :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, it’s known that dashblocking is possible, but it’s really barely known you don’t need to tap twice after the initial dashblock.

Dash blocking is godlike vs Ermac and Noob.

Dash block is absolutely essential in a good match, esp. vs. zoning characters like Ermac/Sub

Dashblocking is great unless you’re Reptile. :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you guys explain it a little further?

So if I press Back and then Block and hold Back after the first block, I will continute wave dashing?

Can you guys explain how or what situation you would use wave dashing? Thanks!

I’ve just found out about it so I don’t know how to use it correctly. But the answer to your first question is yes. Back, block, back makes a dash, Back, block, back, block, back is equal to 2 dashes. I’ve noticed doing 2 dashes is enough because once I attempt the third, I will be punished.

It’s f,f~BL~f~BL~f~BL etc. you can’t do it super fast like you would Mishimas in Tekken or you don’t really get the benefit (having a BL ready anytime + covering distance fast).
