Desyncs seem to be an issue on both PSN and XBL. Hopefully the hot fix remedies this. I literally couldn’t get a single non desync match last night before giving up in.
Ranked seems to be working a lot better, I actually got a few decent games in, but still really unacceptable really lots of desync’s
I think the desyncing problem is caused by the patch + klassic costumes DLC. I’ve tried connecting to well over a 100 matches and have noticed that if both players have the DLC then both players can select their klassic costumes and the game does not desync.
If only one player has the DLC then you won’t be able to select your klassic costume and you will most likely desync, maybe not the first game, but a good chance the second or third game will desync.
Since I have the DLC, I usually challenge players that have a lot of games on their record. The chances are that players with a lot of games played are more the hardcore players and therefore more aware of the DLC and more likely to purchase it.
Yeah I’ve also head this is the reason for desyncs which kind of ridiculous but whatever, I don’t plan on purchasing any DLC until they fix the netcode to a playable state.
Games I’ve been able to get on are 90% lag free (just a guesstimate) for me. I’ve been able to pull off reptile’s elbow whiff combo a few times, and had a few opponents pull it off what seemed like every time. Online will never been the same as in-person matches, but the games I’ve played are pretty damn close.
However, to be fair, I just moved from an apartment with old wiring and was dropping packets and at my new place, the cable junction box is right below my window and I have very good latency. So this could be the reason why games seems better…
Online is better, for sure, but it’s not by a whole lot.
is this a “real” patch or a behind the scenes patch?
(the one that is supposed to fix the netcode)
It’s a real patch, as you get the standard Microsoft Menu prompts to download it.
It’s pretty night and day on PSN when it comes to lag. If there is one issue I have now is the insane amount of desyncs.
If you have the Klassic costume pack and any of the pre-order costumes downloaded, then you run into issues. If you delete the original pre-order costumes, then you should stop having problems.
Any of you are on the east coast? I want to test the online but I don’t want to face randoms that’ll rage quit in 2 seconds.

If you have either the Klassic costume pack OR a pre-order DLC, then you shouldn’t have problems. The issue happens when you (or your opponent) have the Klassic costume pack AND a pre-order DLC downloaded.
For the XBOX, you can just delete the individual DLC. I think PS3 users have to delete their game save, then re-download the Klassic pack (without getting the pre-order DLC).
Well, about time Johnny Cage EX-Shadow Kick got some armor. Mad pathetic getting kited by projectiles from the way they work in this game.

Before I could just lay back and zone Johnny Cage without worrying too much. Now I’m scared everytime he has 1 bar. That’s crazy.
MvC3 netcode is nowhere near SSF4 standard. Way too much delay on MvC. Its worse than even Tekken 6 was in its early days.

I think your expectations are way too high man, you wont find a fighter these days with amazing netcode it’s just the sad fact of the matter. after playing alot last night I would say it’s better than MVC3 atm.
Yeah i don’t think cage really needed armor on his red kick, it covers the whole fucking screen for fuck sakes and he was considered very high tier as it was already
Think about the bright side, at least he won’t have meter for his x-ray 
Has anyone had problems with the game freezing OFFLINE after getting the patch/costumes? I never had a problem, but after I updated, got Skarlet and the compatability pack I’ve been getting freezes on menus and in match. I do have a pre-order costume, but the only other dlc costumes I have are Sektor and Cyrax. Am I going to have to nuke my save?
