HA! I just managed to land almost the exact same combo, it’s an amalgamation of some over at testyourmight.com and was about to post it thinking it would be new to everyone here, then I scroll up and saw this.

Mine is slightly different.

jps, toward + 2, 1, u + 1, 4, fan, dash, 2, upraise, dash j.4, air fan, dash, fan, dash 2, d, f + 2

IIRC it’s only 1 hit difference, but with the same damage %. Which is weird because jps should add 2%. I guess damage scaling is the culprit there.

Going to keep working on this using EX fan dash cancel for the last fan to see if I can’t get in 3, 3, 3, pretty kick on the end. If I can that should add 2-3 more hits and another 4-5%.

Of course these combos are next to impossible to pull off online, although I did pull off the first half leading up to the upraise on a friend last night, so maybe not totally impossible.

I started working on breaking out Kitana’s frame data, but all I have so far is the startup frames.

29% damage

Totally newb question, but then again I’m a total newb to MK.

I use Kitana and I have already gotten a few basic combos down. I mainly use:

forward LP, 2, back 2, fan, fan, and if corner follow up with spamming 3 light kicks after. It does 40-41% damage.

Basically Noble Lift > Uprising > fan > fan > fan > Regal Assault

Mid screen I just end it with an enhanced fan after the second fan. Is there anything else to do after catching them with a fan after the air fan?

Anyways, my question is I can’t reliably get INTO this. I feel like I’m just fishing for the Noble Lift and I have no idea how to really wait and know when to launch the attack. I feel like I just wait and block and even if I wait for them to throw out some little kombo attack string, they either have time to sweep or block or whatever. Everything seems relatively safe so I don’t know how to actually get attacks in, or at least know the animations on when to start attacking.

Any help on how to get in there and start the offensive? I come from a SSF4/MvC3 background so I’m trying to get out of that mindset of fishing for hit confirms but I need help on how to think and what general gameplan to be following.

I can do both seperate parts (before fan lift) or in the corner but midscreen im always to late with the fan lift.

From 1 minute onwards

On the dash, 2, fan lift part you have to buffer the fan lift. So basically you’ll do it real fast. It’s hard to explain it in text, but the gist of it is that it’s normally like this

ff, 2, bb+2

when you want to do it more like ff2bb2, in other words really fast. You want to be buffering the b, b, for fan lift before the 2 even hits.

I hope not too many players jump into the Kitana bandwagon just because of that high damage combo vid. I’ve been maining her since day one and it felt nice being the one of the very few online Kitana players.

She has one of the best crouching 1 attacks of all the characters. Gotta love that range.

It isn’t much, but her square boost is extremely useful for getting out of corners, getting in close, or just plain confusing your opponents. For example, I’ll use the square boost about 3 times, zooming back and forth, above my opponent’s head. Then when they get ready for the 4th with an anti-air attack, I move in on the ground and get him in a juggle.

I believe it’s also Kitana’s wakeup move. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I see a lot of punish combos, but has anyone come up with anything that’s good off pressure? All the stuff in the OP is massively unsafe and unhitconfirmable as far as I can tell.

The only tip I can give you is that there’s not really any hit confirm in this game, you basically buffer everything. For each string, you basically press most of it by the time the first attack hits. Adjusting to the timing in this game will be painful at the beginning but you’ll get used to it soon enough.

2,1 can be hit confirmed into fan lift as can 1,1. f+4,1 can be hit confirmed into dash 2~whatever, dash b+3~whatever, or dash b+2~whatever.

Ah ok. Are those all she has? Also do you plan on putting frame recovery data (I’m assuming it’s basically the same as hit advantage data?)? I really liked your frame data.

First combo can be improved by: f41, 3 x3 xx df1, 3 x3 xx bb2, b2 xx df1, dash b2 xx x-ray

Second combo can be improved: by jp1/2, dash b2 xx df1, dash b2 xx x-ray
