ending a combo with kartwheel > dash > b2 1 f2 j.3 airthrow seems to do more damage than anything else (not counting xray)
also I after dive you should probably do 4 instead of 2 1, I think it’s more damage + less hits (= less meter for the opponent)
edit: actually no, doing 4 instead of 2,1 usually results in like, 1% less damage. Not sure how much more meter that gives the opponent. I guess it’s up to you.
Been messing around with Sonya in training mode and can’t seem to find anything else thats not just basic ground combos.
We might have actually exhausted Sonya completely. Can’t see her getting 45%+ Damage meterless and all that jazz without either doing something impractical or without a corner combo thats probably just not discovered yet.
Have any of you all had any glitch where Sonya’s chest caves in? As in her you know whats? Its pretty hilarious actually. I think it’ll happen after F+HP, HP, HK, and in her second outfit.
Also doing Military Stance cancels are nice, especially with the negative edging the game allows. You can do 2,1 and just roll the stick back and get Military Stance.
I heard the stance’s properties are going to be nerfed soon, which I don’t agree with personally but whatever. Maybe I’ll go back to Raiden?
where did you hear that? Though it kind of makes since if Tom Brady’s video is correct (having tried it yet). having to eat a combo to get out of something so simple is pretty weak.
But yeah, was maining quan chi and had sonya as a secondary, but after playing her a lot in a session yesterday she just feels so much better. Has all the right tools.

Just got 5th out of ~40 at a local. Surprisingly a lot of good players there. Had some trouble with Kitana. Not sure if it was a matchup thing but she’s pretty obnoxious to play against. EX cartwheel is great, EX laser too.
Ended up losing to a Jax player. Found out a lot of things the hard way but no excuses, he outplayed me.

Secondly, I’d like to add some combos. Sadly I’m not home so I can’t tell you exactly what the damage is. The dashes, like in 2-1 mean it’s a combo, while 2, 1 means they are linked.
Starters are:
f+2-f+2
b+2-1
jump punch into b+2-1
jump punch into 2-1
dive kick into 2-1
jump punch AND dive kick into 2-1
Starter, Kartwheel, dash, b+2-1, dash…
-> 2 into Rings (EX will whiff second rings)
-> 2 into Leg Grab (hard to time; due to negative edge rings will come out most times, hold 2 after dash 2 to easily prevent this, EX also works)
-> 2 into Kartwheel (EX works too)
-> 2 into Military Stance -> 1/2/3/4
-> 2-1 into
—> Leg Grab (EX works), corner only
—> Tag, corner only depending on partner’s move
—> Uppercut, corner only
—> X-Ray (outside of corner only)
